Tabalong – PT Pertamina EP (PEP) Tanjung Field continued to support the government’s policy in developing Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) around the Company’s operational areas. This time, PEP Tanjung Field held a Communication and Consultation activity on the issuance of Home Industry Food Production (PIRT) permits and Business Identification Numbers (NIB) for MSMEs in Jirak Village, Tabalong Regency, South Kalimantan, on August 12, 2025. The activity aimed to provide an understanding and direct assistance to MSME actors regarding the importance of business legality, particularly in relation to the ownership of PIRT and NIB.
The communication and consultation activity was part of one of the Company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs, namely the Kelompok Usaha Acil Desa Jirak Program, commonly referred to as Kuas Jirak Program. The activity was attended by 15 participants from MSMEs in Jirak Village, namely Barokah MSME and Sukma Saji MSME.
PEP Tanjung Field Manager Charlie Parmonangan Nainggolan emphasized the Company’s commitment to ensuring that its upstream oil and gas operations and business continue to drive economic growth, community independence, and environmental sustainability, in line with efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). “We believed that involving the community in implementing the Company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs was a strategic step to ensure the effectiveness, positive impact, and sustainability of the programs, as in this communication and consultation activity for PIRT and NIB issuance,” explained Charlie.
In carrying out the activity, PEP Tanjung Field collaborated with Rumah BUMN Banjarmasin, represented by M. Fadhillah Rifki as the speaker. Rifki delivered an in-depth presentation on the benefits of owning an NIB, highlighting it as the initial gateway to business legality and access to various government programs. He also explained the role of PIRT as a guarantee of product quality and safety, which was crucial for entering modern markets.
Not only from the theoretical side, Rifki also provided direct assistance in the process of filling out forms and completing documents so that the fostered MSMEs could immediately obtain the permits. Participants were enthusiastic about following the entire series of activities. Representatives of MSMEs actively discussed and asked questions regarding technical procedures and the long-term benefits of business legality.
With this intensive assistance, Barokah and Sukma Saji MSMEs had a better understanding of building a legal and sustainable business foundation. “Thank you to Pertamina for facilitating the assistance and issuance of PIRT and NIB. This was very helpful for us as MSMEs fostered by PEP Tanjung Field. We hoped that the Kuas Jirak Program could become an example for other MSMEs to expedite the issuance of NIB and PIRT, as business actors often faced obstacles in the process,” said Srihartini, head of the MSME group.
Meanwhile, the Manager of Communication Relations & CID of PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI), Dony Indrawan, conveyed PHI’s commitment, along with all its subsidiaries and affiliates, to continuously carry out the Company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs through innovative, impactful, and sustainable Community Involvement & Development (CID) programs. “We invested in innovative, impactful, and sustainable CID programs as a strategic step to support smooth operations, enhance the Company’s reputation, and strengthen community independence, as in the Kuas Jirak Program,” he said.
According to Dony, the Company implemented CID programs as a manifestation of its commitment to apply Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles in all upstream oil and gas operations and business activities in Kalimantan. “This communication and consultation activity on the issuance of PIRT and NIB was an important part of the Kuas Jirak Program designed by PEP Tanjung Field to encourage fostered MSMEs to have a formal foundation and better competitiveness. This was important to support the growth and sustainability of these MSMEs,” he explained.
In line with the sustainability policies of PHE and PT Pertamina (Persero), PHI, PEP Tanjung Field, and other PHI subsidiaries continued to support government initiatives to improve community welfare through CID programs in the economic sector that could increase productivity, income, and community independence through entrepreneurship-based activities and strengthening of local community institutions.
