Jakarta, 14 October 2020 - PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI) organized Continuous Improvement Program (CIP) Innovation Presentation Forum on 13-14 October 2020. The forum was held online and PHI's subsidiaries, PT Pertamina perusahaan PHI, PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM), PT Pertamina Hulu Sanga Sanga (PHSS), and PT Pertamina Hulu Kalimantan Timur (PHKT) also participated in the event.
This year, the event took the theme of “LEADING INNOVATION CULTURE FOR WORLD CLASS PERFORMANCE” or leading innovation culture to achieve world-class performance. As much as 32 groups consisting of 17 PC-Prove, 9 FT-Prove, 3 I-Prove and 3 RT-Prove from PHM, PHSS, PHKT dan PHI headquarter participated in the event. The participants were selected from 125 submissions. The judges came from PHI, its subsidiaries from the Upstream Business Improvement (UBI) Pertamina Persero serta Sub Holding Hulu Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) functions.
PHI Board of Commissioners Iman Prasetyo Moelyadi and Taufan Hunneman, as well as PHI President Director Chalid Said Salim and PHI and its subsidiaries' management attended the event. During his opening speech, Iman conveyed his appreciation to all officers from PHI and its subsidiaries for the sustainable improvement initiative to explore the potentials, innovation and breakthroughs needed to improve the company.
Meanwhile, PHI President Director Chalid Said Salim who officially opened the forum explained that in facing the current business and industry condition where the company was facing triple shocks due to low commodity prices, low commodity demand, and te pandemic, there were no way for the company to continue to innovate and be efficient in all business and operational aspects to maintain the company's continuity. Chalid also added that the sustainable quality improvement was in line with Pertamina's ongoing transformation process where all of Pertamina's officers would have to do their work better, faster and more efficient.
VP Upstream Performance Evaluation, Heragung Ujiantoro, who was also present at the forum explained that CIP is one of the company's quality management pillars and reflected the company's innovation culture. He also expressed his pride in the PHI Quality Officers' performance for the quality improvement and innovation. Heragung went on to say that the innovations created in the upstream environment could be applied in other fields and business to give added value and big benefits for Pertamina, as per Pertamina Board of Directors' directive.
The two-day forum was concluded on 14 October 2020. The judges had chosen 29 groups to receive gold and 3 groups to receive silver. PHI judges and management decided that 10 leading groups would represent PHI in the 2020 Upstream CIP forum, the 2020 Upstream Improvements and Innovations Awards (UIIA).
During the closing ceremony, PHI VP QHSSE Feri Sri Wibowo, who was represented by the Quality Management & Environment Manager Yudi Pantja Putera asked PHI Quality Officer could continue to create beneficial innovation for the company. Yudi also conveyed his appreciation to all the groups that delivered new innovations in the 2020 CIP PHI forum.
Before officially concluding the forum, PHI President Director Chalid Said Salim conveyed his appreciation for all of the CIP groups that participated in the forum. Chalid also expressed his gratitude for the commitment, initiatives and contributuons from all PHI Quality Officers in supporting the company's business and operations through innovations so PHI could maintain its leading performance and create added value for its stakeholders. Chalid hoped that the PHI Quality Officers to continue the success of futre CIP forums in the upstream, company and international levels. "I believe that the success PHI and its subsidiaries have achieved could be applied not only within PHI but also to all of Pertamina to encourage Pertamina's competitiveness between other global and notable companies," Chalid said.
