Jakarta - PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI) - Regional 3 Kalimantan supports its workers eagerly participating in the 2024 election. Despite being stationed in remote locations to meet national energy demands, these oil and gas workers remain enthusiastic about visiting the polling stations on February 14, 2024. While the democratic festivities unfold, over 3,500 PHI workers continue their duties in oil and gas fields, both onshore and offshore. "Ensuring safety and smooth oil and gas production, the company arranges schedules and transportation for workers to access nearby polling stations, allowing them to exercise their constitutional rights and return to work afterward," expressed Dony Indrawan, Manager of Communication Relations & CID PHI.
To ensure a smooth process, PHI has previously coordinated with the Regional General Election Commission (KPUD) to relocate voting sites (DPTb) near work locations. As a result, workers maintain their voting rights while oil and gas production remains unaffected. While they eagerly exercise their voting rights, they also responsibly fulfill their crucial role in supporting the nation's energy availability and resilience," said Dony. PHI ensures all operational activities run smoothly during the election period.
In addition to addressing its workers' voting rights, PHI supports the smooth conduct of the 2024 elections in its operational areas. One of PHI's subsidiaries, PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM), facilitated sea transportation for election logistics and District Election Committee (PPK) teams in Anggana, Samboja, and Muara Jawa Districts in Kutai Kartanegara Regency, East Kalimantan.
Another subsidiary, Pertamina Hulu Kalimantan Timur (PHKT), provided tents, chairs, and tables for TPS RT 23 in Telaga Sari Village, Balikpapan, as well as catering for 15 polling stations in Pamusian Village, Tarakan, and security personnel for the data recapitulation process in Wismapatra from February 15 to 20. PT Pertamina Hulu Sangasanga and PT Pertamina EP (PEP) also supported polling officers and related officials, including consumption, accommodation, transportation for security, and logistics distribution.
PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI) is a part of the Pertamina Upstream Subholding that manages oil and gas upstream operations according to Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles in Regional 3 Kalimantan. In 2022, through its subsidiaries and affiliates, PHI recorded oil production of 57.8 thousand barrels per day (MBOPD) and gas production of 668.3 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD). In striving to achieve its vision of becoming a world-class oil and gas company, PHI continues to innovate and apply technology to produce safe, efficient, reliable, compliant, and environmentally friendly energy to support #EnergyKalimantanUntukIndonesia. PHI's headquarters is in Jakarta. More information about PHI is available at https://phi.pertamina.com.
