Jakarta– PT Pertamina EP (PEP) Tanjung Field has achieved recognition by receiving the "Adi Niti" Award as one of the Pelaku Usaha Penerap Standarfrom the Ministry of Environment and Forestry/Kementerian Lingkungan Hidup dan Kehutanan (KLHK) of the Republic of Indonesia. During the "Pekan Standard (PeSTA) Lingkungan Hidup dan Kehutanan 2024," Minister of Environment and Forestry Dr. Ir. Siti Nurbaya Bakar, M.Sc, presented the award to PEP Tanjung Field Manager, Kurniawan Triyo Widodo.

Carrying the theme "Environmental and Forestry Standardization for Sustainable Natural Resource Management," PeSTA 2024 serves as a platform for business actors to showcase their contributions to implementing better environmental standards.

In her speech, Minister Siti Nurbaya explained the increasing challenges in managing the environment and forests and urged the community to support each other in addressing environmental issues. "The turbulence in environmental and forestry management must be combined to create a new, equitable balance. I invite everyone to synergize in utilizing standards to control the quality of the environment and forests," said Siti.

PeSTA was held at the Manggala Wannabakti Auditorium, Ministry of Environment and Forestry. One key moment was the presentation of the Adi Niti Award to parties that have shown high dedication to supporting KLHK's efforts to standardize instruments in environmental and forestry management.

Field Manager Kurniawan Triyo Widodo explained that this achievement results from collaboration between the company and all stakeholders. "We appreciate the efforts of all parties who have contributed to this achievement, especially local governments, KLHK, and environmental agencies that have supported us in implementing environmental management programs. This recognition is an appreciation for this cooperation," said Triyo.

According to Triyo, PEP Tanjung will continue to enhance its environmental management efforts, in line with the company's commitment to conducting environmentally friendly upstream oil and gas operations and complying with all regulations and legislation in the environmental field.

Triyo added that this award recognizes PEP Tanjung's environmental management performance according to the approved UKL-UPL documents from KLHK. "The UKL-UPL is an effort that must be undertaken by a company in environmental management and monitoring, structured as a standard and used as a prerequisite for decision-making," he elaborated.

"At PEP Tanjung, we have successfully implemented environmental management standards, particularly in standardizing exploration well drilling. We realize that upstream oil and gas operations carry risks that can potentially impact the environment, which is why we are committed to taking the best steps to implement standards in environmental management related to these activities," he concluded.
