Balikpapan - PT Pertamina Hulu Sanga Sanga (PHSS) supported SKK Migas Kalimantan and Sulawesi (SKK Migas Kalsul) - KKKS in a Social Aid Program organized by the North Kalimantan Regional Police to overcome COVID-19 pandemic in North Kalimantan (Kaltim) Province. PHSS delivered 100 packages of essential food to Kaltim Regional Police (Polda Kaltim) on Tuesday, 24 August 2021, which would be distributed to communities affected by COVID-19 in August 2021.
At the Command Base (Mako) of Polda Kaltim, Boy Aries Tjahjono PHSS’s Assistant Manager of Security, along with Handel Martua Pulungan, SKK Migas Kalsul’s Business Support Specialist, handed over the food packages to AKBP Indras Budi Purnomo, SIK. MM, the Deputy Director of Pamobvit of Polda Kaltim. Also present in that event were AKBP M. Amir, SH. MHP., a representative from Polda Kaltim and Khusnul Istiqomah, a representative from SKK Migas Kalsul.
Handel said that the event is a form of upstream oil and gas industry’s concern for Kaltim people affected by various consequences of COVID-19. “I really appreciate the support from Zone 9 PHSS, who has donated packages of essential food for communities in Kaltim who were affected by COVID-19. I hope that the synergy between upstream oil and gas companies and Polda Kaltim goes well and that their mutual support continues in other positive activities outside the security of upstream oil and gas operations,” said Handel.
The extension of Restrictions towards Community Activities (PPKM) in micro scale imposed by Indonesian government has affected the economy, including in Kaltim Province. This donation of essential food is expected to ease the economic burden of the people to meet their daily needs.
On the occasion, Boy Aries expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to support the Synergy between SKK Migas and Polda Kaltim Program, which allowed PHSS to get involved in distributing the social aid to communities within the Company’s operational area.
”PHSS will continue supporting all parties in the efforts to overcome COVID-19 through various disaster management interventions and programs. We believe that quickly overcoming COVID-19 requires a synergy among business actors, the government, and communities, as well as strictly following the health protocol,” he concluded.
