Kutai Kartanegara- PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM) held social service activities by providing basic food packages to communities around the Company's operational areas. This activity was carried out in coordination with the local government and in collaboration with BUMDES in several villages to empower BUMDEs' economic activities.
PHM's Head of Communication Relations & CID, Frans Alexander A. Hukom, explained that social service activities are a form of the Company's social concern for the community, especially in welcoming the month of Ramadan 1444 Hijriah.
"We synergized with the local government and distributed 1,350 basic food packages to people in need in 22 villages and sub-districts from 4 sub-districts in Kab. Kutai Kartanegara and Balikpapan," said Frans.
In the Anggana District Area, the primary food packages were distributed among residents in Sepatin Village and Muara Pantuan Village in the Mahakam Delta coastal area, which is adjacent to the South Processing Unit (SPU) Field. Social service activities also target other regions around the PHM operational area in 4 different fields and those adjacent to the PHM office in Balikpapan.
"This activity is expected to help provide basic community needs that are beneficial to residents, especially in welcoming the month of Ramadan," said Frans.
Frans added that this social service activity is a form of corporate responsibility to the community around its operational area.
"In addition to social service activities, PHM consistently carries out empowerment programs for the community in the fields of education, health, economy, and environment, including new and renewable energy, which are carried out sustainably by involving the community, government, and other stakeholders," concluded Frans.
When handing over the aid, the Head of Sepatin Village, Arianto Juanda, said the food packages would be distributed directly to residents entitled to receive them in his village area. "Surely, this assistance will help our community," he said.
Arianto appreciated the implementation of PHM social activities in the field, which put forward a pattern of coordination and synergy with the local government. Village government officials carry out the distribution of essential food packages, especially for areas still challenging to reach.
