Jakarta – PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI), as Subholding Upstream Regional 3 Kalimantan, held an HSSE in-house training on 12-14 July 2021 in order to maintain global and high level HSSE standard in oil and gas operation in all its work areas.

Considering current challenges, the company will require adept and capable HSSE Officers to perform its daily operational activities. In addition, organizational transformation of the Subholding Upstream, which brought new Officers in HSSE management, certainly requires sufficient development of knowledge and skills for those Officers. 

Themed Upskilling Zone 9’s HSSE Officers, the online in-house training is a joint effort between HSSE and Human Capital functions in Regional 3. Instructors on this occasion came from internal HSSE teams of Regional 3 and Zone 9 (Diah K, Adhika A, Endy J, Rina DP, Sunarji, Ary S, Mufti F, Anita K, Yandi A, dr. Suhartono, Luki H, and Ariyani). The training was attended 28 HSSE Officers of Zone 9, including those who were on duty in the field. All participants listened to instructors’ presentations enthusiastically for three days, from 08.00 WITA until 16.00 WITA.

The training was opened by Budiman Sarwidi, Manager of HSSE Operations in Zone 9. In his speech, Budiman expected that the 3-day training could optimally benefit the participants through discussions about existing references that had frequently been discussed in the field. “Amidst the concerning situation in this pandemic, hopefully we all can maintain our positive thinking, our spirit, and our productivity during the training so that we can improve our competencies,” he said.

Material presented in the training were HSSE Rules, Regulation, & Terminology; Contractor Safety Management System; Risk Management; Safe Work Practices; Basic Operation & PSM; HSSE Observation; Safety Inspection & Audit; Security Management System;  Environment Management System; Occupational Health & Industrial Hygiene; Safe Transportation; HSSE Performance, Reporting, & Campaign; and Incident Reporting & Investigation.

Nano Suwarno, Manager HC Business Partner of Regional 3, said that this training is one of strategic supports that Human Capital functions provide for HSSE function in achieving company’s goals of developing officers’ competencies and ensuring the safety of company’s workers and assets.

Assistant Manager HCBP of Zona 9, Iwan Kurniawan, added that the training was carried out in-house to ensure that the topics discussed suit the operational condition and competence levels of HSSE Officers in Zone 9.
