Muara Badak, Friday, 11 September 2020 - PT Pertamina Hulu Sanga Sanga (PHSS), one of PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia's (PHI) subsidiaries, held the Muara Badak Airport Building lending ceremony to Kutai Kartanegara Regional Administration on 8 September 2020 which would be used as a self-isolation facility to support Covid-19 prevention in East Kalimantan.
The handover was conducted by PHSS Field Manager Widhiarto Imam Subarkah to Kutai Kartanegara Regional Administration which was represented by Muara Badak District Secretary Rendra Abadi.
Widhiarto emphasized PHSS' commitment to always collaborate with the stakeholders to build a mutual relation. ”The Muara Badak Airport Building Loan as a layover and self-isolation facility to the Kutai Kartanegara Regional Administration is an integral part of the company's commitment to support the community, especially in COVID-19 pandemic relief efforts,” Widhiarto said.
Furthermore, Widhiarto explained that PHSS have also loaned 30 beds and distributed staple food packages to be used during the early self-isolation periods.
During the occasion, Rendra who represented the Kutai Kartanegara Regional Administration, said that the building that would be used as a layover would also be used for self-isolation facility for residents in Muara Badak and the surrounding areas infected by Covid 19. “We are coordinating with the Kutai Kartanegara Health Agency to maximize the layover utilization to handle Covid-19 cases in the Muara Badak area,” he said in his speech.
Muara Badak Airport building would be used as a self-isolation facility until 30 September 2020 under the Muara Badak District Administration's supervision and local health institutions. “We are grateful for PHSS for providing the facilities and infrastructure to help handle Covid-19 in the Muara Badak area. Hopefully this effort could help to lower the number of cases,” Rendra said.
