Muara Badak– One of the subsidiaries of PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI) in Zona 9, PT Pertamina Hulu Sanga Sanga (PHSS) invites the public to care about environmental cleanliness and sustainability through the Environmental Awareness Movement Plant One Grow a Thousand or Darling Namaste.

This time, PHSS, together with the community, planted 500 Avicennia Alba tree seedlings on the banks of the Jawi - Jawi River and 200 Glodokan Tiang (Polyalthia longifolia) tree seedlings in the gate 20 area of ​​PHSS Muara Badak on Sunday (17/09).

General Manager of Zona 9, Andre Wijanarko, explained that the Darling Namaste movement is a form of PHSS's commitment to supporting policies to reduce carbon emissions and efforts to mitigate climate change.

"This movement simultaneously involved all PHSS workers and various levels of society. "PHSS is collaborating with Pokmaswas (Supervisory Community Group) Lestari Alamku to provide outreach to the community about the importance of mangrove plants on riverbanks," explained Andre.

Andre added that the Darling Namaste movement also carried out socialization about waste with the theme "My Trash is My Responsibility." This activity invited the community's enthusiasm to participate in environmental-saving activities.

Meanwhile, PHSS Field Manager Ade Diar Suhendar revealed that in this activity, PHSS provided support for facilities and infrastructure (sapras) through rubbish bins and socialization information boards. This sarpras support was disseminated strategically, covering four villages in Muara Badak District, Kutai Kartanegara District, and East Kalimantan.

"It is hoped that this tree planting activity will benefit the environment so that ecosystem balance can be maintained and harmonious. The maintained environment will benefit all living things," Ade said.

The representatives from the Directorate General of PSDKP (Directorate General of Marine and Fishery Resources Supervision) of East Kalimantan Province, the local Muspika, Karang Taruna, community leaders, and the local community attended The Darling Namaste activity.

Representative of the Directorate General of PSDKP for East Kalimantan Province, Eva Wardhani, appreciated this activity and hoped that the people of Muara Badak would feel the benefits. "We support this activity and hope this activity will continue. "If we don't start planting mangroves and protecting our coast, we don't know who will," said Eva.
