Muara Badak - Pt Pertamina Hulu Sanga Sanga (PHSS) Community Development program or Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the form of Biofloc System Fish Farming received support and appreciation from the Regent of Kutai Kartanegara, Edy Damansyah. Catfish farming with a biofloc system is located in RT 03, North Hamlet, Tanah Datar Village covers an area of 25 ha, and is managed by Karang Taruna under the guidance of KTNA and the Vienna Karya Farmer Group of Tanah Datar Village.
PHSS Field Manager Pjs Arif Budiman explained that biofloc fish ponds are considered capable of providing advantages over conventional fish ponds, such as efficient water use, effective feed, and shorter maintenance time, and can be used for vegetable cultivation as an integrated agricultural system development in Tanah Datar Village.
According to Arif, the existence of biofloc fish ponds can be used as a center for learning appropriate technology for other groups or villages that want to learn in it. This activity is carried out with the synergy of various parties and is expected to improve the economy and independence of the surrounding community in the Company's Ring I area.
"In addition to providing catfish seeds and biofloc facilities, PHSS also assists the capacity of the community in its management," said Arif in the handover attended by the Kukar Regent (25/10).
On this occasion, the release of catfish seedlings into the biofloc pond was carried out by the Regent of Kukar and his staff and PHSS management. The activity in the biofloc pond area was closed by giving a symbolic award to the KTNA and KWT associations throughout the district in Kutai Kartanegara Regency.
