PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam Wins Two Oil and Gas Safety Awards 2022

Balikpapan: PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM) won the 2022 Oil and Gas Safety Award, namely Patra Karya Raksa Tama I for the Category of Oil and Gas Work Safety Development and Patra Nirbhaya Karya Utama Adinugraha II for the Category of No Loss of Working Hours because of Accidents (4/11/2022). 

The Oil and Gas Safety Award is an appreciation from the Government for Cooperation with Contract Contractors (KKKS) and Business Entities (BU / BUT) for oil and gas business activities that have successfully ensured work safety without losing working hours and implementing work safety guidance in the business environment.

The awarding of 2022 Oil and Gas Safety Award is the culmination of the Oil and Gas Safety Communication Forum organized by the Directorate General of Oil and Gas (Ditjen Migas) of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources on November 3-4, 2022. The 2022 Oil and Gas Safety Communication Forum theme is the Role of Oil and Gas Sustainability in the Era of Energy Transition. 

The event was held offline and attended by the Director General of Oil and Gas Tutuka Ariadji, Secretary of the Ministry of SOEs Susyanto, and Special Staff of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Ego Syahrial. As well as high-ranking officials of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. The Director of Lab Accreditation of the National Standardization Agency, the Independent Team for Oil and Gas Control, the Head of Oil and Gas Engineering, Associations, and Representatives of Indonesian Universities.

The director of oil and gas engineering and environment opened the event with remarks by Mirza Mahendra. In his speech, Mirza said that as many as 18 KKKS and 24 business entities won Patra Nirbhaya, and three KKKS and six other business entities won Patra Karya Raksa. 

The award obtained by PHM and 50 other companies is an appreciation and proof of commitment to prioritize the safety of working hours and security in work or operating area. In this case, PHM achieved work safety, namely four years without LTI (Lost Time Injury). The achievement on September 12, 2022, is equivalent to 123 million working hours. 

The Oil and Gas Safety Award Trophy gave to the winner by Director General of Oil and Gas Tutuka Ariadji, Secretary General of the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises Susyanto, and Special Staff of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Ego Syahrial, accompanied by Director of Oil and Gas Engineering and Environment Mirza Mahendra. 

Responding to the award received, PHM General Manager, Krisna, said that this award is a form of government recognition of PHM's efforts. Consistently carry out the best HSSE practices in managing oil and gas operations to produce safe, environmentally friendly, and sustainable energy. 

"As one of the largest oil and gas producing companies in Indonesia, PHM always runs oil and gas operations that are safe, reliable, environmentally friendly, and comply with all applicable regulations by applying Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles," said Krisna.

According to Krisna, superior safety performance will ensure the sustainability of oil and gas production produced by PHM so that it can continue to support the availability of energy, which is essential for Indonesia's economic development.
