Jakarta – PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM) received a Gold award from the Ministry of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration in the CSR & PDB (Sustainable Village Development/ Pengembangan Desa Berkelanjutan) Awards 2022 on Thursday, (06/23) at JS Luwansa Hotel & Convention Center Jakarta.
This highest award category was given to the Sepatin Prosperous Community Empowerment Program (Program Pemberdayaan Masyarakat Sejahtera Sepatin/PAIS PATIN), PHM's Corporate Responsibility Program (CSR) that has been running since 2018. Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. K.H. Ma'ruf Amin himself presented the award to Krisna, General Manager of PHM.
The CSR & PDB Awards 2022 is the result of collaboration between the Ministry of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration and the Indonesian Social Sustainability Forum (ISSF). The awards are given to companies or individuals for their success in fostering and empowering village-owned enterprises (BUMDes). There are three award categories - Gold, Silver, and Bronze.
General Manager of PHM, Krisna, said that the success of the PAIS PATIN program is proof of PHM's strong commitment to implementing innovative and sustainable CSR programs.
"We always carry out community empowerment programs that can provide added value for stakeholders and the community around the operational area. We are very grateful for the appreciation by the government, and PHM will continue supporting other CSR programs so they too can achieve similar results to the PAIS PATIN program," said Krisna.
The PAIS PATIN program is managed by PHM in collaboration with IRE (Institute for Research and Empowerment) Flamma Foundation Yogyakarta, focusing on developing an existing village institution, BUMDes "Karya Sepatin", that was established in 2015. The vision of this program is to develop BUMDes and other potential-based local economic institutions to improve basic services.
Krisna added that the goal of this program is to improve the capacity of the village government and community, enabling them to develop the economic aspects of their village to find sustainable alternative sources of livelihood, eradicate poverty, reduce unemployment, and lower urbanization.
"In addition, this program aims to build local economic governance that can become a collective economic movement of the community in the form of village-level local organization/institution (in this case, BUMDes) that is participatory, transparent, and accountable," said Krisna.
Frans Alexander A. Hukom, Head of Communications Relations & CID (CRC) of PHM, conveyed a similar message. He claimed this award is a recognition of real and significant contributions of the PAIS PATIN community development program to the creation of a self-reliant community.
"We believe that PHM's success cannot be achieved without the support from all stakeholders, including our parent company - PHI, SKK Migas, Board of Subdistrict Government Leaders (Muspika), and the Village, ensuring the smooth running of our community empowerment programs," said Frans.
