Bintan - PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM), as the operator of the Mahakam Working Area (WK) with the support of SKK Migas and PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI), as the holding company held a ceremony for the process of sailing the deck (Sail Away Topside) of WPN4 and WPS3 of the JSN Project ( Jumelai, North Sisi, North Nubi) on November 4, 2021 in Bintan Regency, Riau Islands Province.
The WPN4 and WPS3 platforms will travel by sea from Bintan to the waters of East Kalimantan which is estimated to take about 15 (fifteen) days to be installed on top of WPN4 and WPS3 jackets. Ready for Drilling (RFD) for the JML1 platform is targeted to be ready in early December 2021, then the WPN4 platform at the end of December 2021, and the WPS3 platform in February 2022. The entire JSN project will be completed within 20 (twenty) months from the signing of the contract as a sign of the start of work on the JSN project on June 30, 2020. The event was attended by Deputy for Operations of the Central SKK Migas, Julius Wiratno; PHI President Commissioner, Adriansyah; PHI President Director, Chalid Said Salim; and General Manager of PHM, Agus Amperianto. In his remarks, Chalid said that the two offshore platforms, namely WPN4 and WPS3 would complete the development of the JSN Project in Mahakam WK. "PHI as the asset manager for Pertamina Subholding Upstream Regional Kalimantan will maintain to carry out intensive coordination with SKK Migas and Pertamina Subholding Upstream to implement strategies to achieve the targets that have been set." he explained.
On the same occasion, SKK Migas Deputy Operations, Julius Wiratno explained that this activity was an extraordinary achievement and involved multi-stakeholders from various parties. "We really appreciate the progress of this work which in accordance with the WPN4 and WPS3 offshore platforms that are ready to be shipped to assist the development of the JSN Project," he said. Julius also expressed his appreciation to PHM for its extraordinary achievements as one of the Cooperation Contract Contractors (KKKS) in Indonesia whose production is above 100%.
The construction of the Engineering, Procurement Supply Construction, & Commissioning Jumelai, North Sisi and North Nubi (EPSCC JSN) integrated project was carried out by PT Meindo Elang Indah, as the project implementer. This project began with several important milestones, where the first steel cutting was carried out on September 1, 2020, as the start of the construction work. Then proceed with the fabrication work of 3 (three) jackets which were completed in January 2021. Currently, the 3 jackets have been installed in the South Mahakam and Sisi Nubi fields in April 2021.
General Manager of PHM, Agus Amperianto, said that each platform of the JSN Project is designed for a production capacity of 45 MMSCFD, with an investment cost of USD 120 million. According to Agus, the three platforms of the JSN Project are prepared to be able to produce gas that can support oil and gas production from the Mahakam WK by 20% by the year 2024.
Furthermore, Agus conveyed several other achievements from the implementation of the JSN EPSCC Project, including the completion of this project during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic with the achievement of more than 3 million safe working hours without Lost Time Injury (LTI).
Adriansyah, President Commissioner of PHI, expressed his gratitude to all parties, especially SKK Migas and other relevant stakeholders for the satisfactory cooperation and support in the view to the deck sailing activity that can be carried out. He also expects the JSN project can be completed on time according to the planned target.
PHI, through its subsidiary PHM, continues to invest in exploration and exploitation drilling to increase reserves and maximize production from both onshore and offshore oil and gas fields. This is PHI's commitment to support the achievement of the national production and lifting target of oil and gas in the year 2030, which is set by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia of 1 million barrels of oil per day and 12 billion standard cubic feet of gas per day.
