Senipah - PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM) continues to develop the Advanced Farmers CSR Program 4.0 as an environmentally friendly Pertaculture Agricultural System Innovation. To support the development of activities in this CSR program, PHM recently handed over 10,000 carp, tilapia, and catfish seeds, followed by tree planting and stocking carp seeds at the Baanjung Self-Help Agriculture and Rural Training Center (P4S) (28/1/2023 ).

PHM carried out the handover to the Foster Partner Group together with the visit of the Exploration Director of PT Pertamina Hulu Energi Subholding Upstream, Muharram Jaya Panguriseng. The visit was held to P4S Baanjung in Handil Baru Darat Village, Samboja District, Kutai Kartanegara.

Muharram expressed his appreciation for the achievements and success of the Advanced Farmers Program 4.0. According to him, this program is relevant to the need for farmer regeneration. Thus, the youth are motivated to actively participate in developing agricultural activities and are proud to be farmers.

The Advanced Farmers Program 4.0 results from PHM collaboration with community groups, government, and partner institutions. This program has several advantages, including a cross-age partnership between young and old farmers, innovative decomposers from organic waste that has received IPR, and integration of technology and agriculture with drones for monitoring agricultural businesses. As well as mitigating forest and land fires (karhutla) and developing digital cropping applications for product marketing.

Farmers Maju 4.0 has succeeded in regenerating 33 young farmers and participating in efforts to preserve the environment through utilizing organic waste. From an environmental standpoint, the program has followed in reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from plantation waste by 259.2 kg of methane gas (CH4) per year and reducing carbon stock of biomass by 91.64 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) per year. Through this program, PHM has also obtained government recognition through the Ministry of Environment and Forestry by receiving a PROPER Gold Rating in 2021.

PHM Senior Manager Production Operation, Ashif Hadad, who attended the visit, said that the Advanced Farmers Program 4.0 is a form of PHM's commitment to grow and progress with the community in the area around its operations, primarily to support food security based on local potential.

Ashif revealed that PHM carries out various CSR programs by involving and developing the community in the economic, education, health, and environmental fields. "This is in line with efforts to support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)," he said.

In line with this, Andri Wiriawan, S.IP., M.Sc as Handil Baru Darat Village Head, also expressed his appreciation for PHM's performance in developing CSR programs in the Samboja sub-district area.
