Jakarta– PT Pertamina Hulu Kalimantan Timur (PHKT) achieved a proud milestone by winning the award for the Third Best Provider of Mental Health Services in the Workplace, presented by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenkes RI). The award ceremony coincided with the celebration of World Mental Health Day, held at the Jakarta International Velodrome on October 13, 2024.
In his speech, Dr. Imran Pambudi, MPHM, Director of Mental Health at the Ministry of Health, emphasized the importance of mental health as a key pillar in creating a productive workforce. This year's World Mental Health Day theme was "It's Time to Prioritize Mental Health in the Workplace," encouraging everyone to work together to build a supportive mental health environment in workplaces.
Suhartono, Assistant Manager of Health for Zona 10 Subholding Upstream Pertamina, stated that this award reflects the government's recognition of the company's commitment and efforts to raise awareness about mental health among its employees.
"At PHKT, we believe that the health of employees and partners directly impacts productivity and company performance. Therefore, we have implemented policies and occupational health programs to protect the well-being of workers, partners, and the community, including mental health," said Suhartono.
He further noted that the company continuously monitors and mitigates occupational health issues that could affect employee well-being and company performance.
Meanwhile, Dony Indrawan, Manager of Communication Relations and CID at PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI), expressed his delight with the award received by PHKT, one of PHI's subsidiaries. "The company believes that employees are the most valuable asset in achieving its vision and mission. As a result, the company has developed programs that support employees' ability to maintain mental health," explained Dony.
Dony added that the company believes employees' ability to manage personal and family issues can positively impact their productivity and the company's performance. "The company offers various resources and programs to help employees balance their careers, personal lives, and family commitments, such as the Employee Assistance Program (EAP), where employees can consult or receive counseling with psychologists," he added.
With this achievement, Dony hopes PHKT's accomplishment will inspire other PHI subsidiaries and companies outside the PHI group to create a healthier and more sustainable work environment.
