PT Pertamina Hulu Kalimantan Timur Continues to Develop the Established Insan Gate Program in Penajam Paser Utara

Yogyakarta – PT Pertamina Hulu Kalimantan Timur (PHKT) of the Southern Operating Area (DOBS) and the Government of Penajam Paser Utara Regency (PPU) continue to work together in developing rice mina, integrated farming through the Gerbang Insan Mapan (Movement for the Development of Agricultural and Fisheries Integration Towards Food Security) program in Sebakung Jaya Village. 

The field Manager of PHKT Suwantono Widji conveyed the steps taken by the Company in carrying out the PHKT Community Development Program (PPM) or Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Including the cooperation contained in the PHKT partner PKS to Village BUM in collecting freshwater fish from pokdakan fostered partners to be used as row material catering services that serve the consumption needs of PHKT workers at the Lawe-lawe terminal.

"On October 20, 2022, Pokdakan Biawan and Pokdakan Jaya Patin, partners assisted by CSR PHKT, have reaped the harvest of rice mina as much as approximately 750 kg of rice and 250 kg of tilapia on an area of 0.5 ha," added Suwantono.

As part of efforts to maintain the sustainability of the Gerbang Insan Mapan program, PHKT also held a Training of Trainer (ToT) activity at Joglo Tani Yogya from October 30 to November 4, 2022, and was attended by six farmer groups from 3 different locations, namely Pokdakan Biawan and Jaya Patin from Sebakung Jaya Village, Babulu District, Poktan Bina Usaha Muda and Poktan P.P. Hidayatullah from Girimukti Village, KUW Maggot Lestari Tanjung Tengah Village, as well as the HIMPULI Group from Gunung Steleng Village, Penajam District. 

Acting Regent of Penajam Paser Utara Regency (PPU), H. Hamdan, also expressed his appreciation for the CSR program fostered by PHKT. Hamdan also supports the social and environmental innovations developed by PHKT in this program which also answers the problem of informal education in the core & buffer districts of the Nusantara Capital.

"PHKT is keen to look at this issue. The material provided in this ToT activity also answers problems in IKN related to food security which requires the collaboration of various parties," said Hamdan.

Furthermore, Hamdan requested that communication with PHKT and other stakeholders, such as instructors from Joglo Tani Yogya, be maintained so that they can continue to evaluate the program's effectiveness and implement the training results that have been obtained. 

Meanwhile, also present at the closing of the ToT in the form of fruit tree planting activities at the Joglo Tani Yogya location, Chairman of the Healthy Regency Forum (FKS), Satriani. 

Satriani explained about FKS activities in the Stunting Prevention Program, which are also supported by PHKT, considering that PPU is in 2nd place in regencies/cities throughout East Kalimantan with the highest stunting rate. "The CSR program run by PHKT is in line with FKS activities, namely the GEMARI program or the Fish Eating Movement as part of the stunting prevention program," Satriani concluded. 

"There are 1,000 children indicated to be stunted in this IKN core district, and we are grateful because PHKT contributed to the Stunting Prevention Program. Such as procuring anthropometric tools (measuring instruments & baby scales), piloting hydroponic activities in 4 Posyandu of PPU Regency, and Training on Strengthening Stunting Handling for PPU Posyandu cadres. Which assembled with the help of additional food packages (processed from fish, tempeh, vegetables, fruits, and green beans) for toddlers and pregnant women," said Satriani.
