Jakarta - PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI) has succeeded in saving 19.05 million dollars in material costs through the Ex-Termination Material utilization program or MAXTER in the short term. This achievement is higher than the target on October 2021 of 17.6 million dollars.
Head of Pertamina Hulu Indonesia's MAXTER program, Eddy Siswanto, who is also Pertamina Hulu Indonesia's SCM Manager explained that, the MAXTER is part of the cost optimization program at Pertamina's Upstream Subholding or better known as OPTIMUS (Optimization Upstream). The MAXTER program aims to reduce the supply of termination material that can be reused in various projects, activities, which are related to oil and gas operations.
Eddy stated that, “The MAXTER program is able to encourage PHI workers to check the availability of materials needed in the project work plan on the system with the purpose to be utilized optimally. Waste material can be reduced step by step through projects or activities related to operations in line with PHI's commitment and strategy in carrying out efficiency and innovation in all aspects of its operations and business.”
Eddy also added, "The savings mechanism is implemented through reducing material costs by using ex-termination materials which are already worth 0 or lower than the budget itself.”
On this October, the MAXTER program made the largest contribution to the OPTIMUS Regional 3 Kalimantan project, which reached 12.29 million dollars or 47% of the Cost Savings target of the Operating Budget (ABO).
PHI has made a use of ex-terminated materials in 2021 and continues to maximize the use of these materials to support safe, effective, efficient and environmentally friendly oil and gas operations to provide sustainable value for all stakeholders.
