Jakarta – PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI), Subholding Upstream Regional 3 Kalimantan, has received 5 PROPER Gold Awards in 2021 through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs that has successfully implemented social and sustainable innovations. “PROPER” is an Assessment Program for Company Performance Ratings in Environmental Management developed by the Ministry of Environment (KLH), where Gold PROPER is the highest predicate given.

Based on the Decree of the Director General of Pollution and Environmental Damage Control Number SK.69/PPKL/SET/WAS.8/11/2021, about the Determination of Gold Candidates for the Assessment Program for Company Performance Ratings in Environmental Management for the Year 2020-2021, there are entities under the management of PHI, which accepted the gold and green PROPER titles in 2021, notably: 5 Gold PROPER Fields and 11 Green PROPER Fields.

The President Director of PHI-Regional 3 Kalimantan, Chaid Said Salim, said that the achievement of PROPER in 2021 has proven PHI's commitment to ESG (environmental, social, and corporate governance). Chalid also mentioned, "This success can be achieved through planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and positive publication of excellent CSR programs through collaboration and synergy between the company and all stakeholders.”

In addition to Chalid statement earlier, he added that, "The PROPER 2021 motivates oil and gas companies, including PHI, to continue involving local communities and other stakeholders in implementing its CSR programs. One of the PROPER assessment criteria of the year which emphasized by the PROPER Board is social innovation. Through social innovation, it is expected that the company will be able to fully comprehend social problems around its working area and address the problems effectively.”

PHI will continue establishing various social innovations in implementing its CSR programs to provide greater value to the community and all stakeholders.
