Jakarta - Commemorating World Anti-Corruption Day, or International Anti-Corruption Day (Hakordia), falls on December 9, 2022. PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI) held a webinar entitled "The Role of Anti-Bribery Management Systems in Preventing Corruption Crimes in the Upstream Oil and Gas Industry." 

Present in this webinar was the Deputy Minister of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia. Prof. Dr. Edward Omar Sharif Hiariej, S.H., M.HUM, explained the role of the Anti-Bribery Management System, which is very important in preventing corruption in the upstream oil and gas industry. 

"The involvement of all parties, including companies in the upstream oil and gas industry to prevent corruption, can have a positive impact in Indonesia," added Prof. Edward. 

Furthermore, Prof. Edward added that high integrity and commitment are needed from workers and management to prevent corruption in a company.

In addition, Chalid Said Salim, President, and Director of PHI conveyed the importance of the joint commitment of all parties in supporting, implementing, and monitoring the implementation of ABMS in PHI. 

"PHI routinely implements compliance preventive programs in the form of socialization and anti-bribery campaigns as part of the company's commitment to supporting a clean company, free from corruption and bribery," said Chalid.

Chalid also appreciated the achievements of the Officers, especially in Regional 3 Kalimantan, for their genuine commitment to fighting corruption through the implementation of ISO 37001: 2016 concerning the Anti-Bribery Management System.
