Jakarta - PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia held an engagement activity and discussion with editors and editors-in-chief of the national media (17/01). This activity is part of the Company's commitment to maintaining harmonious relations with media crews and mass media in supporting the success of the Company's upstream oil and gas operations.

On this occasion,  Dony Indrawan, the manager of Communication Relations & CID, stated that in 2022, PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI) received recognition for its environmental protection performance. An innovative community development or CSR from the government through the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) with the highest PROPER rating award, namely gold for four PHI oil and gas fields and five green predicates for five PHI oil and gas fields.  

"The MoEF's recognition of PHI's environmental protection performance encourages us to continue to run environmentally sound oil and gas operations beyond compliance. Alhamdulillah, we can realize our commitment to run oil and gas operations that are safe, reliable, compliant and environmentally friendly in line with Pertamina's strategy for energy transition and zero emissions," said Dony.

PROPER is a Public Disclosure Program for Environmental Compliance held by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK). PROPER is a complement that synergizes with various existing conventional environmental structuring instruments. Gold PROPER is the highest rank in PROPER assessment, emphasizing assessing the Company's CSR program. 

PHI obtained the four PHI gold PROPER ratings through the CSR programs. PT Pertamina Hulu Sanga Sanga (PHSS) with the Saliki Water Supply System (WSS) program, PT Pertamina Hulu Kalimantan Timur (PHKT) Southern Operating Area (DOBS) through the Gerbang Insan Mapan program (Movement for the Development of Fisheries and Agriculture Integration Towards Food Independence)", explained Dony.

Furthermore, Gold Proper obtained through PT Pertamina EP (PEP) Tarakan Field with the Kubedistik program (Batik Disability Joint Business Group), and PT Pertamina EP (PEP) Bunyu Field through the Broiler Chicken Farm Kentungan Pocket program known as the Kentungan Pak Abo Program. 

Along with that, five Green PROPER predicates received by the PHKT of the Northern Operating Area (DOBU), PEP Sangasanga, PEP Sangatta, PEP Sangatta Semberah, and PEP Tanjung. 

"PROPER in 2022 provides an opportunity for the Company to continue to run Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs that support the achievement of sustainable development goals (SDGs), by carrying out synergy and collaboration with all stakeholders so as to be able to create benefits and values that are enjoyed together (creating shared value)," added Dony. 

The role of the media cannot separate this success in conveying information about the Company's environmental protection and CSR programs to stakeholders. "Thank you very much for the media support so far so that the Company's information can be amplified to a wider audience," concluded Donny.
