Jakarta - PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI) held various activities with the media in Tanjung Selor, Bulungan Regency, North Kalimantan (21-22/07). A series of activities of media socialization and education, visits to media offices, and futsal-friendly matches were held with Special Task Force For Upstream Oil and Gas Bussiness Activities (SKK Migas) Delegation of Kalimantan and Sulawesi to establish friendship and coordination with media personnel, especially in the Zona 10 work area in North Kalimantan (Kaltara).
PHI's Communication, Relations, and CID (CRC) Manager, Dony Indrawan, explained that the Company is committed to maintaining good relations with all stakeholders, including media partners.
"We believe that the success of the Company's upstream oil and gas operations and business can only be achieved if supported by all stakeholders. As one of the main stakeholders, the media is an important partner in the Company's communication activities so that the wider community can receive the Company's information and messages quickly and accurately," said Dony.
In the media education socialization activity, Dony added the importance of the media crew's understanding of the process and characteristics of the upstream oil and gas business so that media reports can place the oil and gas industry as one of the national vital industries that have a great positive impact on economic development and Indonesian society.
Regarding the existence of oil and gas operations in North Kalimantan, especially Pertamina EP Bunyu Field, Tarakan Field, and also PHE Nunukan Company, as well as JOB Pertamina-Medco EP Simenggaris, PHI had the opportunity to hold a meeting with the Bulungan Regency Government which was directly attended by the Bulungan Regent, Regional Secretary, and Bulungan Regency government officials.
"We believe that the synergy between Pertamina, the media, and the North Kalimantan Provincial Government can create shared values by following the principles of Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG). We are committed to continuously developing harmonious and mutually beneficial relations with all stakeholders in producing Kalimantan Energy for Indonesia," concluded Dony.
SKK Migas Kalimantan-Sulawesi Delegation Office represented by Faisal Abdi expressed his appreciation to media partners who have been partners in providing positive news about the upstream oil and gas industry. "The media is a very important partner in providing news about the benefits and positive influences that this industry has given to the community, including community development programs, regional levies, land and building taxes, absorption of local workers, empowerment of local businesses," said Faisal.
At the end of the activity, a futsal competition was held which was opened by the Governor of North Kalimantan, Zainal Arifin Paliwang (22/07). Governor Zainal strengthened the Pertamina futsal team in the match and managed to appear as the top scorer. "We realize that the wheels of government are also inseparable from the role of the media, especially in the digital era. Hopefully, this positive activity can increase the brotherhood between Pertamina and the media in North Kalimantan. I believe that by maintaining physical and spiritual health, media colleagues can perform their duties and functions better," Zainal said.
