Senipah – PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI) and the Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas) organized an end-of-year visit, consisting of monitoring the lifting activities in the Mahakam Working Area operated by PHI's subsidiary, PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM), at the Senipah Terminal, Kutai Kartanegara, East Kalimantan (12/31/2023).

SKK Migas Vice Chairman Nanang Abdul Manaf, Head of the SKK Migas Kalimantan Sulawesi (Kalsul) Representative Azhari Idris, the SKK Migas management team, PHI President Director John Anis, PHM/Zona 8 General Manager Setyo Sapto Edi, and the PHI and PHM management teams participated in this visit to PHM's operations.

SKK Migas Vice Chairman Nanang Abdul Manaf emphasized that this year-end lifting monitoring activity offers a valuable chance to review the past year's experiences and draw lessons for future enhancements. SKK Migas Vice Chairman Nanang Abdul Manaf highlighted the significance of prioritizing safety measures and ensuring sustained operational reliability consistently.

"On this occasion, I want to encourage everyone to remain enthusiastic as motivation towards the new year. Developing ideas that have a positive impact must be consistently pursued to the best of our abilities. Moreover, all challenges and criticisms should not demoralize us; instead, we need all of that to strengthen our foundation," he expressed.

Nanang added that as long as the trust given to managing the oil and gas upstream sector, SKK Migas and the Contractors of Cooperation Contracts (KKKS) should continually engage in mitigation and improvement efforts, irrespective of the challenges, as these endeavors will form a legacy for the country.

Azhari Idris, the Head Representative of SKK Migas in Kalsul, elaborated that all terminals within the Kalsul region were poised to conduct the year-end 2023 lifting operations, focusing on optimizing the transportation of oil/condensate production from oilfields to the designated Lifting Terminal.

"The lifting activities include draining the oil/condensate stock from the tanks while ensuring the quality of the oil/condensate to lifted. The realization of MMK Lifting in the Kalsul region was 100% about production, 102% against the WP&B target, and 93% against the APBN target," he elaborated.

Meanwhile, PHI President Director John Anis explained that the year-end 2023 visit was one of the efforts to drive oil and gas lifting activities in support of the national oil and gas production target by 2030, aiming for one million barrels of oil per day (BOPD) and 12 billion standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of natural gas.

"Throughout 2023, PHI and its subsidiaries and affiliates completed drilling in 170 development wells (exploitation) and four exploration wells. With the high drilling activities and production number targets, we consistently maintain the reliability of production facilities, terminals, and supporting facilities for oil and gas lifting to significantly contribute to Indonesia's production and lifting figures," stated John.

John emphasized the importance of a commitment to always conduct upstream oil and gas operations that are safe, reliable, environmentally friendly, and compliant with all applicable regulations according to the implementation of Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles.

"This joint visit is a good moment to gather and build cooperation, collaborate, and synergize to achieve our goals. This activity serves as an opportunity to appreciate all workers, especially those on the front lines, and encourages them to continue improving their already good performance and innovate to yield positive results in the coming years," concluded John.
