Tarakan, North Kalimantan– PT Pertamina EP (PEP) Tarakan Field, in collaboration with RSUD Dr. H. Jusuf SK, held a blood donation event titled “20 Years of Celebrating Giving: Thank You, Blood Donors!” The event occurred at the Auditorium Mess Melati PEP Tarakan Field, Tarakan City, North Kalimantan, on Wednesday, August 21, 2024.

This blood donation drive coincided with the celebration of Indonesia’s 79th Independence Day and successfully collected 65 blood bags.

PEP Tarakan Field Manager Cahyo Tri Mulyanto stated that the blood donation drive is a regular program at PEP Tarakan Field, held every four months. “This commitment is the company’s step towards promoting a healthy culture and caring for others among employees and partners by supporting the availability of blood bags for the people of Tarakan City and its surroundings,” he added.

Cahyo expressed his appreciation to the employees who donated their blood. He also mentioned that this event reflects the employees’ concern for public health.

“As part of the PEP Tarakan Field family, I am very proud and honored that we can continue contributing to the community. Not only through our daily work but also through social activities like this blood donation drive. This event is a tangible manifestation of our commitment to give, share, and care for others continually,” said Cahyo.

PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia’s Manager of Communication Relations & CID, Dony Indrawan, explained that the blood donation drive is one of the health sector's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs.

He noted that the company always involves all stakeholders in every CSR program. “We collaborate with all stakeholders in implementing the company’s CSR programs to ensure their success and sustainability. For this blood donation drive, we partnered with RSUD Dr. H. Jusuf SK in Tarakan City,” he said.

Dony is confident that having sufficient blood bags can help improve community health, aligning with the company’s commitment to supporting community independence and welfare.
