Muara Jawa - PT Pertamina Hulu Sanga Sanga (PHSS) carried out the Local Vegetation Planting Program in one of the former CBM (coal-bed methane) locations in the Mutiara Field, Pamaguan Plant area, Muara Jawa District on Wednesday (29/12/21). The tree planting activity at Mutiara Field covered the series of planting bayur, mahogany, pulai and ironwood trees that had been carried out in 3 other PHSS fields.

Previously, PHSS had already planted 75 trees in the area of ​​270 former wells with the Badak Football School Group (SSB) CAN Muara Badak (21/12/21), planted 90 trees in the Samberah area with the Karang Taruna Karya Tanjung group from Tanjung Limau Village (23/12/21), and planted 100 seeds in the Satellite 2 area (mini plant) involving residents from the Muara Badak Youth Association (PPMB) (27/12/21).

In collaboration with the fostered partners of the Mandiri Raya Farmers Group, this local vegetation planting activity was attended by the management of the PHSS and Muspika of Muara Jawa Sub-Ditrict, namely: Camat, Danramil, Kanit Binmas Muara Jawa Police and Secretary of Lurah Dondang. Seedlings of ironwood, meranti, lime, trembesi, puspa and jabon trees were planted in an area of ​​8000m2 near Pamaguan Plant, Mutiara Field.

PHSS Field Manager, Ade Diar Suhendar, who officially opened this activity said that the company will always carry out safe, effective, efficient and environmentally friendly oil and gas operations. "PHSS is committed to preserve the environment around its operational area through environmental management and CSR programs which are actively involved with the local community," said Ade.

Ade Diar also added that in 2021, four PHSS fields succeeded in obtaining the 2020-2021 Green PROPER from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry. Along with the aim to continue improving the environmental performance with the intention of finding opportunity to win the gold category next year.

On this occasion, the Head of Muara Jawa Sub-district, Safruddin, S.Sos., M.M, stated that, PHSS had supported the Mission of the Kutai Kartanegara Idaman Program to improve the management of natural resources with an environmental concept.

Pertamina Hulu Sangasanga is a subsidiary of PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia, part of the Pertamina Subholding Upstream Region 3 Zona 9, which has a working area of ​​1,942km² divided into 7 on-shore oil and gas fields, notably: Semberah, Badak, Lampake, Nilam, Pamaguan, Mutiara, and Beras.
