Samboja, Kutai Kartanegara – PT Pertamina Hulu Sanga Sanga (PHSS), which is part of Pertamina's Zone 9 Subholding Upstream Regional 3 Kalimantan, distributed essential food aid packages to communities affected by the flood in Sungai Seluang area, Samboja Sub-district, Kutai Kartanegara Regency (09/06). Sungai Seluang neighborhood is one of the company’s Ring I areas that was quite severely affected by the flood in Samboja Sub-district, which was caused by the high intensity of precipitation on last Friday (09/03).

The aid was handed over by Suseno, the Section Head of PHSS Lapangan Mutiara, to the Head of Sungai Seluang Village, H. Hari, witnessed by Sungai Seluang Bhabinkamtibmas (Community Police Officers) and Babinsa (Village Law Enforcement), and LPM (Community Empowerment Board) that represented the communities. Suseno hoped that the aid PHSS distributed can help to ease the victims’ burdens. Head of Sungai Seluang Village, H. Hari, expressed his gratitude for PHSS’ help and hoped that the good relationships between them will continue.

According to data from Disaster Board of Sungai Seluang, 486 families in 12 neighborhood were affected by the flood. Essential food packages would be distributed by Disaster Emergency Response volunteer teams to local people who managed the Soup Kitchen. The soup kitchen would provide food to the people and distribute the emergency essential food.
