PHM's Efforts to Reduce the Decline Rate Received Appreciation from the Deputy Head of SKKMigas

Balikpapan -  Deputy Head of SKKMigas, appreciated the efforts made by PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM) in maintaining and reducing the rate of decline rate.

This was conveyed by Nanang Abdul Manaf, Deputy Head of SKKMigas, on the sidelines of a visit to review the PHM operating facility in Rig Raisis, which was continued to the North Processing Unit (NPU) area.

"I intend to congratulate and give spirit at the end of the year for good achievements, including optimum gas management, where the innovation is able to increase production by 1000 barrels per day and provide productivity and revenue value," said Nanang.

In addition, I also appreciate the efforts for eight years of zero LTI (Lost Time Incident) loss of time without work accidents. Where golden safety rules and Corporate Life Saving Rules (CLSR) are applied and followed by all workers so that they can work safely.

"PHM can also be Green Proper which means complying with the regulations issued by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry," said Nanang.

Among them, continued Nanang, produced water returned to nature has passed the quality standards. In addition, PHM also runs CSR programs with the community, where there are many fishermen and farmers around this area. PHM is here to help the community.

"Related to PHM's production operations, it is currently able to account for 10% of national gas production or 585 MMSCFD and will be continuously increased. And for the 2023 target of 550 MMMSCFD and condensate of 30,000 Condensate per day," explained Nanang.

Furthermore, Nanang added that the challenge is getting more demanding, the decline rate reaches 50%, and it will fall if you don't do any activities. But PHM is not idle. They make various efforts, such as well intervention, workover, well reperforation, and well reactivation.

The rest of PHM also conducts exploration, one of which is the Sisi Nubi field, whose production has reached 200 MMSCFD. PHM will also develop the Nubi Side Field to be more massive.

PHM innovation makes drilling more efficient and effective. In contrast, shallow water drilling, which was originally 17 days to 2 days, makes drilling costs more economical, which initially reached 15 million dollars to 2 million dollars.

"In 2022, 96 development wells were drilled plus two exploration wells, and in 2023 the target is in 103 shallow well drilling and two exploration wells. The total number of PHM active wells is 1000 wells," said Raam Krisna, General Manager of PHM Zone 8 Regional Kalimantan Subholding Upstream Pertamina.
PHM's 2023 budget reaches 600 million dollars. Meanwhile, the realization of 2022 goes xx.

"And in 2023, the development of the Manpatu well will be carried out because the production facilities are already there, just to be further developed. Of course, we will see from many aspects through the Plan on Development (PoD) both from the economy and what kind of commercial aspects," explained Krisna.

Then, Nanang added that in addition to PHM, other PSCs in East Kalimantan, such as PHKT, PHSS, and ENI, and incentive plans are given for the Marrakesh East field, which we hope to carry out further development.

"Now, the task of PHSS that receives incentives is to immediately execute the proposals of its work program. Because with this incentive, which was originally uneconomical and marginal, making it economical and feasible to develop, at least it can increase the production life of PHSS," said Nanang.
With incentives, it is hoped to increase the state's lifetime and oil and gas production, so it is a win-win solution.
