Signing of the Swakelola Contract between PHM and LPM Sepatin Village

PHM Partners with Sepatin Village LPM

Tenggarong - PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM) with full support from PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI) and SKK Migas, entered into a partnership with the Community Empowerment Institution/Lembaga Pemberdayaan Masyarakat (LPM) of Sepatin Village through the signing of a Swakelola Contract on January 24, 2022 at the Tenggarong Regent's Hall, Kutai Kartanegara. The signing of the self-management contract was carried out by the General Manager of PHM, Agus Amperianto and the Chairman of Sepatin Village LPM, Akmar,  and witnessed directly by the Regent of Kutai Kartanegera, Edi Damansyah.

On the same occasion, the signing of a cooperation contract between LPM of Sepatin Village,  was represented by Akmar and Ajay, as the Chair of the Sepatin BUMDes. Both parties are expected to establish solid cooperation to support the flow of PHM's oil and gas operations.

The signing of this self-management contract is part of PHM's partnership strategy in community development for the company's operational areas in creating shared value for all stakeholders. PHM's partnership with LPM and BUMDes in Sepatin Village is through providing job opportunities for younger generation of Sepatin Village to support the process of developing a new well named Tunu F Inland, which is located in the swamp area of ​​the Mahakam Delta Island, Sepatin Village, Anggana District, Kutai Kertanegara Regency, East Kalimantan Province. Not to mention, the Tunu F Inland well is part of the Tunu Shallow 5 Project – Optimization of Fields Development 1/ Optimasi Pengembangan Lapangan Lapangan 1 (OPLL 1) in the Mahakam Working Area (WK), the drilling activities will take place in mid-2022.

At this stage of the work on the Tunu Finland Project, PHM joint with LPM Sepatin Village in carrying out several main jobs including: survey assistance, land clearing work (clearing), and dredging (dredging). PHM continuously provides assistance and guidance to the community, incorporate through BUMDes in the Coastal Delta Mahakam Village, which the Ring 1 area is located since 2018 until now.

General Manager of PHM, Agus Amperianto said that the support from the government, especially from the Government of Kutai Kartanegara Regency, is well needed in carrying out PHM's oil and gas operations. According to him, during the drilling preparation period, PHM always carried out communication and collaborated intensively, both with SKK Migas and with the Regional Government, in every stage of its work. Agus stated that, “I am very grateful for the support that has been given by the Government of Kutai Kartanegara Regency to PHM up to this point. In appreciation from the support, PHM's operational activities in Mahakam can run smoothly."

Agus also added that, the support that has been given until now is expected to support the success of the exploitation of oil and gas reserves carried out by PHM. "Currently, the focus of PHM's operational area in finding oil reserves in the Sepatin area is relatively difficult. In order to do that, PHM continues to maximize the management of areas that can be optimized, such as swamp areas or on land," concluded Agus.

On this occasion, the Regent of Kutai Kartanegara, Edi Damansyah expressed his highest gratitude and appreciation to PHM for all the efforts and initiatives carried out by PHM’s performance in Kutai Kartanegara Regency. There were obstacles in terms of society during the execution of these operational activities. "That is the dynamic in carrying out operational activities, but it can be handled well because of good communication and cooperation." said Eddie. Edi also expressed his desire about how PHM can educate the Sepatin Village community around the PHM’s operating area in order to create sense of belonging in continuing support of the ongoing oil and gas activities.

Edi Damansyah emphasized that, through this Corporate Social Responsibility program, it is expected to create additional value and provide a sustainable positive impact on the prosperity of society and the nation, especially for the people of Sepatin Village, Kutai Kartanegara. "This can be happened by fostering and utilizing products produced by the community around the PHM WK. This way, the community can be promoted outside to increase the economic level of the society.” Eddie added.

PHM's partnership with LPM and BUMDes is the commitment of PHM to maintain the sustainability of a long-term oil and gas business by prioritizing balance and nature conservation, protecting the environment, and contributing to the development of community self-reliance, especially those in the company's operations.
