BALIKPAPAN, 15 May 2021 --- To commemorate 1442 H Eid Al-Fitr, PT Pertamina Hulu Kalimantan Timur (PHKT), Pertamina EP Bunyu Field and Pertamina EP Tarakan that are now joined under the Pertamina Zone 10 Kalimantan Area Upstream Subholding, held mass prayer and aid giving symbolic ceremony for orphans in the PHKT Balikpapan office. 

The event was attended by several Balikpapan public figures, such as Ustadz Abdurrahman, Syekh Muhammad Arsyad Al-Banjari Islamic Boarding School administrator Penajam,  Ustadz Subair, Ar Razii Desa Girimukti Penajam Children Social Welfare Organization administrator, Ustadz Abdul Rohim, Al Ikhlas Nenang Penajam Children Social Welfare Organization administrator, Ustadz H. Amier, Panti Asuhan Manuntung Balikpapan Orphanage administrator, dan Sister Hilaria FSE as the Santo Fransiskus Assisi Balikpapan Special School administrator. 

In his opening speech, Pertamina Zone 10 Kalimantan Area Upstream Subholding General Manager  Raam Krisna, said that he hoped the prayers from the administrators and orphans would be able to make all operations in Zone 10, especially for Pertamina Hulu Kalimantan Timur, Pertamina EP Bunyu Field and Pertamina EP Tarakan Field to run smoothly as all would conduct drilling activities soon. “We believe in the power of prayers from the orphans. There's even a saying that said ‘when orphans pray, the sky would open its veil and penetrate the sky directly to Allah ’,” he said. 

Representing the aid recipients, Ustadz H. Amier as the Manuntung Balikpapan Orphanage administrator conveyed his gratitude. He also prayed forthe workers' health, safety and also for the company's success. “We are deeply grateful to Pertamina and moved by its generosity that even in this pandemic, the company still cares for the orphans,” Ustadz H. Amier said. 

The mass prayer event also coincided with well drilling preparations for: Mahoni-14, and Bunyu-2006 (B-125) wells, along with spud Sembakung-PJE. 7 that would be conducted soon. The new wells were expected to create good results to maintain production rate and national energy security.
