SUNGAI GERONG (27 February) - PT Pertamina (Persero) holds Fire Fighting Competiton organized by HSE Center Pertamina, Sungai Gerong, South Sumatra on 24-27 February 2020 to conclude the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) month.  PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI) through its subsidiaries, PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM), PT Pertamina Hulu Sanga Sanga (PHSS) dan PT Pertamina Hulu Kalimantan Timur (PHKT), successfully won the Grand Champion in the competition. 

The PHI team consisted of 10 members comprising of 8 participants and 2 officials, that were also accompanied by the medical and support team, successfully become the solid and skilled fire fighting team and received the highest score compared to other Pertamina teams. The joint team consisted of PHI and its subsidiaries' (PHM, PHSS dan PHKT) workers successfully showcased its professionalism to become the ambassadors that accelerated Pertamina to become a world-class company.  

There were 9 competitons in 2 categories. The first category was Small Team Competition (STC) which comprised of dari: Basic Life Support (BLS) with AED, Smoke Chamber Rescue (SCR) with AED, Fire Gear & SCBA Skill, Simulator OSC.  The second category was Group Competition (GC) which comprised of: Structure Fire & Rescue (SFR), Firefighter Physical Ability Test (FPAT), Water Rescue Skill(WRS), Hight Angle Resuce (HAR), exhibition-only Manifold Fire FIgnting (MFF).  The PHI team was able to get 3 gold medals in the Smoke Chamber Rescue, Fire Gear & SCBA Skill dan Structure Fire & Rescue categories.  It also got 1 silver medal from the Basic Life Support dengan AED competition and 1 bronze medal from the Firefighter Physical Aptitude Test competition. PHI also managed to get Best Captain award in the event. 

Pertamina group runs a high technology, big capitalization business with high risk. Therefore, every company within PT Pertamina is required to always be ready to handle emergency situations.  The PHI team was able to reach such high achievements through extraordinary hard work and dedication. They have the preparedness, stamina and dexterity to face every potential emergencies in their work environment in their respective areas.  From this achievement, the PHI team would incorporated in the Pertamina team for Indonesia Fire Rescue Challenge (IFRC) in July 2020.  --- SALAM HSSE ---
