JAKARTA, Thursday (20 February) – To commemorate national Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) month, PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI) holds Medical ERT (Medical Emergency Team) Challenge 2020 at the Graha Elnusa Building outdoor soccer field on 20-21 February 2020. Other than to commemorate the national OSH month, the event was also aimed to build cooperation between the Medical Emergency Response team in facing real medical emergencies and to educate Pertamina Hulu Indonesia's personnel on Corporate Life Saving Rules (CLSR). 

The Medical ERT team that participated in the event came from PT Pertamina (Persero), PHI Jakarta office, Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM), Pertamina Hulu Kalimantan Timur (PHKT), Pertamina Hulu Sanga Sanga (PHSS), and Elnusa Tbk.  The competiton was commenced by Pertamina Hulu Indonesia Quality Management & Environment Manager, Yudi Pantja Putera. The participating assessors came from outside of Pertamina, such as Ambulans GADAR 118 Foundation (M. Syukri dan Anggi), Medika Plaza (Steven Pangsoli) dan Pertamina internal team, such as Pertamina Corporate (Fajar Abas Kristianto), PHSS (Dr. Budi Setiawan Muchtar, MKK dan Achmad Zuhal), PHKT (Dr. Ricky Pardede) and PHM (Dr. Octavio Soares, Edwin Romadhona, & Aulia Wildan). The participants were divided into groups of seven to compete on basic knowledge on first aid kits, basic life saving for trauma and non trauma skills (heart-lung resuscitation with/without Automated External Defibrillator), ERT Fitness Drill, and CLSR Corporate Life Saving Rules.

The challenges in the first day include written and practical test on basic life saving, and traffic accident first aid simulation with multiple casualties.  The challenges on the second day include fitness drill, games (CLSR, fire fighting using fire extinguisher and fire blanket, and first aid knowledge and practices) The interactions between the participants and assessors were expected to not only for scoring, but also to increase all team's knowledge and skills.  To ensure the event's success, participants that took part in the challenges were only those that have passed the Medical check up, company doctor's verification, and daily health check up before the event. 

The event chose champions in several categories :

• Stasiun 1 : BLS Plus Challenge :
  • Gold medal for PHM team, Silver medal for PHI team and Bronze medal for PHKT team
• Stasiun 2 : MVAR Challenge :
  • Gold medal for PHM team, Silver medal for PHI team and Bronze medal for PHSS team
• Stasiun 3 : ERT Fitness Drill Plus :
  • Gold medal for Pertamina Headquarter team, Silver medal for PHM team and Bronze medal for PHKT team

• Best Captain : PHSS Team Captain
• Favorite Tem : PT Elnusa Tbk.

PHM managed to be the First Grand Champion, followed by Pertamina (Persero) team in the second place and PHI team on the third place.
