Jakarta - PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI) won the achievement as the 3rd winner of the EOR Achievement Award 2022, held by the Directorate General of Oil and Gas of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral. Resources at the 2022 Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) event with the Oil and Gas Testing Center (LEMIGAS), with the topic "Field Trial of Tanjung Field Polymer Injection" (15/12/2022).

The competition event carried out by LEMIGAS for the first time aims to give appreciation for the efforts to implement EOR carried out by Cooperation Contract Contractors (KKKS) and technology providers. And become a place to share best practices and lessons learned for stakeholders in developing and implementing EOR technology. This activity also intends to encourage the acceleration of the massive undertaking of EOR technology in the context of increasing national oil reserves and production.

Responding to this achievement, PHI EOR Manager Aminatul Iffah explained that the Company always encourages the emergence of innovations and technological applications that can improve the safety, reliability, and excellence of the Company's oil and gas operations. "We hope this achievement can add motivation to the implementation of EOR in Pertamina Hulu Indonesia fields for efforts to increase oil production and contribute to building an EOR technology ecosystem in Indonesia." Aminatul Iffah added.

This innovation aims to increase the Additional Reserve and Recovery Factor of the oil production field by optimizing the application of EOR technology and improving the Human Resources (HR) ability at Pertamina related to EOR technology. This polymer injection trial technically tested the condition of the polymer flooding to be implemented in Tanjung Field so that the total injection volume injected was 1 PVI in the Pattern TPFT area.

Head of the Oil and Gas Testing Center (LEMIGAS) Ariana Sumanto explained that the EOR 2022 festival is an award for EOR technology which is the first time it has been carried out and will continue to be held regularly. And is a form of the Government's contribution and appreciation of EOR technology. "This EOR festival was initiated by the Director General of Oil and Gas and launched in May 2022, which invites all parties involved in EOR technology." Ariana Sumanto added.
