Jakarta - PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI) held a gathering for media in the Kalimantan area titled “Baso Iga PHI”. The gathering was held online for three days on 6, 7, and 13 July 2021. The event was aimed to introduce the new PHI organization and company activities to a number of journalist organization in the Kalimantan area.
PHI Relations Senior Manager Farah Dewi, PT Pertamina Hulu Energi Communication Manager, External Communications & Stakeholder Relations Senior Manager Hermansyah Y Nasroen, PHI Relations & CID Dony Indrawan, PHI Regional Communication & Relations Assistant Manager Kristanto Hartadi, Zone 8 Head of Communications, Relations & CID Frans Alexander A. Hukom, Zone 9 Head of Communications, Relations & CID Shanti Radianto, and Zone 10 Head of Communications, Relations & CID Visnu C. Bhawono attended the gathering event.
Journalists from various professional organization and media in Kalimantan, such as East Kalimantan, North Kalimantan and South Kalimantan Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI), Samarinda and Balikpapan Alliance of Independent Journalists (AJI), and Indonesian Cyber Media Association. During the meeting, PHI Relations team introduced their members, while the journalists introduced their professional organizations and main council board.
The journalists also received explanations on Pertamina's transformation process to holding and subholding company and how it impacted the company's organizational structure and working areas. As the Kalimantan Region Upstream Subholding, PHI continued its efforts and innovations to maintain oil and gas production and manage business and operational challenges so that the company could create value to all its stakeholders, including the government and the general public. All of the attendees participate in the discussion on the current upstream oil and gas industry in Kalimantan with enthusiasm.
PHI realizes the importance to collaborate with the media to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). PHI is committed to always be in line with SDGs Goals in oil and gas operations and production, or social responsibility, such as Goals (3) Good Health and Well-being; (6) Clean Water and Sanitation; (7) Affordable and Clean Energy; (8) Decent Work and Economic Growth; (14) Life Below Water; (15) Life on Land; (17) Partnerships for the Goals.
“This media gathering event is a routine agenda for the company. The media is one of PHI's strategic partners that supports and give inputs to our operations in Kalimantan. This is what pushed us to always collaborate with the press and media in Kalimantan,” Farah Dewi said.
Farah continued that the gathering is an important part of the Relations function's program. “During the pandemic, the company and the media continues to communicate to remind each other to comply with health protocols and stop the spread of Covid-19,” she said.
PHI is part of Pertamina Upstream Subholding which manages three work area zones in Kalimantan: Zone 8; Zone 9; and Zone 10. The PHI operation area is spread across East Kalimantan, South Kalimantan and North Kalimantan provinces and become one of the backbones of PT Pertamina's oil and gas production to support national energy security.
