Meeting between Management Zona 9 Regional 3 Kalimantan and Danlanal Balikpapan

Management of Zona 9 Regional 3 Kalimantan Requests Danlanal Balikpapan to Escort Three Crude Oil Delivery Areas

Balikpapan, Wednesday 10 November 2021, Management of Zona 9 Regional 3 Kalimantan paid a courtesy call to the commander of the Balikpapan Navy Base in the context of gathering and request for support in securing oil and gas operation areas, especially Zone 9 in the East Kalimantan region. The visit was led by General Manager Gondo Irawan, who was welcomed directly by Danlanal Balikpapan Marine Colonel (F) Siswo Widodo, S.T., Pasintel Major Marine (S) Arfin Trimedia, and Pasops Major Marine (F) Syaiful Ali.

General Manager of Zona 9 Regional 3 Kalimantan, Gondo Irawan explained that, this friendly and coordinated visit was a follow-up to the Balikpapan City Forkompinda gathering which was held last week at the Indonesian Air Force Shooting Range, Dhomber Air Base.

Gondo stated that, “Zona 9 Regional 3 Kalimantan is in charge of 5 working areas including PHSS, PEP Sangatta Field, PEP Sangasanga Field, PHE Offshore Bunyu, PEP Tanjung Field. In shipping crude oil to Refinery Unit V Balikpapan (RU V), Zone 9 deploy the waters of East Kalimantan with the need of intensive security and control of marine areas, especially for the Samboja, South Mahakam and North Mahakam areas with the purpose of crude oil to run safely, smoothly, and according to the expected target.”

Gondo Irawan also added that, the delivery of crude oil which crossed the waters, especially in the three PEP Sangasanga Field areas to RU V Balikpapan, had been assisted by the Indonesian Navy. For that, Gondo expressed his gratitude for the support.

On that occasion, Danlanal Balikpapan Marine Colonel (F) Siswo Widodo, S.T., emphasized his support for the security of activities which was carried out by Pertamina, especially those in water areas.

Siswo said that, "If it is necessary, we will add patrol team personnel to help Pertamina in disseminating information to coastal communities regarding Pertamina's offshore activities with the purpose to be able to mitigate the potential for emergency conditions, obstacles, and threats.”

This honorary visit is a manifestation of the good relationship between Zone 9 Regional 3 Kalimantan and the TNI AL at Balikpapan Base to continue collaborating to support the achievement of the national oil production target of 1 million BOPD by ensuring the creation of security in oil and gas operations in the waters.
