Kutai Kartanegara- PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI), through its affiliates and subsidiaries in Zona 9 of Pertamina's Upstream Subholding, namely PT Pertamina EP (PEP) Sangasanga Field area Anggana and Sangasanga, completed two Facilities Sharing Agreement (FSA) projects at the end of Semester I 2024. Completing the two projects worth USD 12.2 million is expected to increase the reliability of oil and gas lifting activities so that operating costs are more effective and efficient. The two projects are part of the first phase of the borderless initiative program for the scope of surface facilities, which began in April 2022.
PHI President Director Sunaryanto explained that Zona 9 applies a borderless strategy in managing oil and gas working areas that overlap with other oil and gas working areas (WK) managed by Pertamina Group. This strategy has proven to provide significant added value for all stakeholders.
"In carrying out the mandate of achieving production targets while still paying attention to commercial and HSSE aspects, synergy programs, and borderless operations, as well as the application of the best engineering practices aimed at increasing the reliability of oil and gas production from all fields, managed," he explained. Previously, the FSA project was also successfully implemented in the PEP Sangatta Field Semberah Area and PT Pertamina Hulu Sanga Sanga (PHSS) in 2022.
Sunaryanto added that the Company implements various innovations in drilling activities to be more effective, faster, and more efficient so that the Company can continue to generate significant value for all stakeholders, especially the government and shareholders.
Pjs. Zona 9 General Manager Susan Syahdina revealed that these two projects were successfully completed at a more efficient cost, around USD 2.9 million. "This achievement is thanks to the results of engineering design optimization and the utilization of materials that have zero book value," continued Susan.
Susan also added that PEP Sangasanga Field lifting activities in the Anggana and Sangasanga areas use oil barges, which are directly sent to the refinery in Balikpapan. With this project, the oil and gas lifting process can be channeled to the East Kalimantan pipeline network, which is expected to save USD 3.2 million per year in operating costs.
Since the signing of the Joint Operation Agreement (JOA) related to the management of overlapping working areas (borderless depth right) for WK Sanga Sanga and WK Pertamina EP on March 17, 2023, Zona 9 as the skipper of the two WKs continues to develop borderless projects, both in the implementation of drilling programs, well intervention, procurement of goods & services, licensing, post-operation activities and production facilities that can support the best return on investment by mature field conditions.
PT Pertamina EP (PEP) Sangasanga Field is under the Regional 3 Upstream Subholding headed by PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI) in carrying out the management of upstream oil and gas operations and businesses according to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles. Through cooperation with SKK Migas, PEP Sangasanga Field, together with other PHI subsidiaries and affiliates, continues to carry out various innovations and technology applications in producing safe, efficient, reliable, compliant, and environmentally friendly energy to realize #EnergiKalimantanUntukIndonesia.
