Jakarta— PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI) held a Town Hall Meeting (THM) with the President Director at the Graha Elnusa office in South Jakarta. This hybrid town hall meeting, which took place on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, was attended by employees from PHI's Jakarta headquarters, the Balikpapan operational office, and fields in East Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, and South Kalimantan.
The event was graced by PHI's President Commissioner Meidawati, Commissioners Edi Eko Cahyono and Mirza Mahendra, President Director Sunaryanto, and the company's management team. Also present were GM Zona 8 Setyo Sapto Edi, GM Zona 9 Julfrinson Alfredo Sinaga, and GM Zona 10 Yoseph Agung Prihartono, joining the employees at the office and field locations.
During this THM, President Director Sunaryanto, who acted as the host, encouraged all employees to continue adhering to the best safety practices in the national and global upstream oil and gas industry to produce energy that is safe, environmentally friendly, reliable, and sustainable. "We are confident that everyone plays a vital role in building a safety culture so that zero incidents can be achieved," he said. As of June 2024, PHI had achieved 45.1 million safe hours with a Total Recordable Incident Rate of 0.03, significantly below this year's target.
Sunaryanto also expressed appreciation to all employees, whether working from home, at the office, or in onshore and offshore fields, for their commitment, dedication, hard work, and discipline in conducting safe, secure, and compliant oil and gas operations in line with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles. "Thanks to this commitment, the company can continue to demonstrate outstanding performance amidst increasing operational and business challenges," Sunaryanto stated.
In the first semester of 2024, PHI's oil and gas production reached 59,000 barrels per day and over 600 million standard cubic feet of gas per day. "Every employee plays a crucial role in maximizing the company's production achievements this year and supporting the national oil and gas production targets," he elaborated.
In her remarks, PHI's President Commissioner Meidawati urged all employees to prioritize safety as the most important aspect and foundation in all company operations and business activities and to always consider HSSE aspects in personal and corporate activities due to the significant job risks.
Meidawati shared her experience during a Management Walkthrough (MWT) at the Bekapai field, one of the mature fields managed by PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM). "The application of technology in the Bekapai Artificial Lift project allows this field to continue producing effectively. This demonstrates that all employees' fighting spirit and efforts can significantly contribute to the company," she said.
Meidawati also encouraged all employees to continue working together and remaining united in oil and gas operations while maintaining professionalism and integrity. "Don't forget to stay humble and always be empathetic to the environment," she added.
At the end of the event, the PHI choir SimPHIonic performed their debut performance with the song "Sapu Tangan Babuncu Ampat" from South Kalimantan. The song's message is moral advice about relationships with others. It is hoped that the song will inspire collaboration among all employees.
