Consistent Commitment to Occupational Health and Safety, PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia Wins Naker Award 2024 from the Ministry of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia

Jakarta – PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI), through its subsidiaries and affiliates, has won the NAKER AWARD 2024 from the Ministry of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia/ Kementerian Ketenagakerjaan Republik Indonesia. The award ceremony took place at Jiexpo Kemayoran Hall-C, Jakarta, last Friday (August 23), attended by Vice President Ma’ruf Amin, Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziyah and her team, several governors, companies, and representatives from regional Manpower Offices.

The PHI Group entities that received awards include PT Pertamina EP (PEP) Tanjung Field with the Zero Accident Award, PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM), and PT Pertamina Hulu Kalimantan Timur (PHKT) for their platinum category award in the Workplace HIV/AIDS Prevention and Mitigation Program. The awards were accepted by Senior Manager Production & Project Zona 9 Ade Diar Suhendar, Regional Health Manager 3 Dr. Bambang Darmawan, and Assistant Manager Health Zona 8 Dr. Rani Herespatiagni.

The NAKER AWARD 2024 serves as a government appreciation and motivation for companies and State-Owned Enterprises/Regional-Owned Enterprises (BUMN/BUMD) regarding their labor management performance, including occupational health and safety. This year, the event carried the theme "Accelerating Employment Transformation for Indonesia Gold 2024: Competence, Independence, and Competitiveness."

Separately, PHI President Director Sunaryanto expressed that the award represents government recognition of the company's performance in labor management. Sunaryanto added that this achievement results from good collaboration with various stakeholders, including partner companies, to improve performance and safety culture within the company. “This collaboration and synergy also support raising public awareness and knowledge about safety as an integral part of building a safe environment,” he noted.

According to Sunaryanto, the company believes that excellent safety performance will support the success and sustainability of the Company’s oil and gas operations. “The implementation of best safety practices is believed to support the company’s efforts to maintain production levels at both onshore and offshore oil fields in Kalimantan,” he continued. Sunaryanto, often called Anto, appreciated all stakeholders and parties who contributed to this achievement.

In addition to the awards for PHM, PHKT, and PEP Tanjung Field mentioned above, in efforts to build a safety culture, PHI and its other subsidiaries and affiliates have programs such as Lifeguard Training for coastal management representatives within the Pangempang Muara Badak Coastal Management Forum/ Forum Pengelola Pantai Pangempang Muara Badak organized by PT Pertamina Hulu Sanga Sanga (PHSS). Meanwhile, PEP Tarakan Field conducted emergency response drills for fires, oil spills, and community demonstrations in the Tarakan Field area.
