Jakarta - At the end of 2022, PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI) Regional 3 Kalimantan once again gained achievements by obtaining the Gold and Green PROPER award from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) through superior Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) programs implemented in the company's operational areas.

"This year, PHI, through the entities under its management, received 4 Gold PROPER and 5 Green PROPER. Its subsidiaries won four Gold PROPER awards. Namely PT Pertamina Hulu Sanga Sanga (PHSS) with the Saliki Water Supply System (WSS) program, PT Pertamina Hulu Kalimantan Timur (PHKT) Southern Operating Area (DOBS) through the Gerbang Insan Mapan program (Movement for the Development of Fisheries and Agriculture Integration Towards Food Independence)", explained Chalid Said Salim, President Director of PHI Regional 3 Kalimantan. 

Then, continued Chalid, PT Pertamina EP (PEP) Tarakan Field with the Kubedistik program (Batik Disability Joint Business Group), and PT Pertamina EP (PEP) Bunyu Field through the Broiler Chicken Farm Kentungan Bag program known as the Kentungan Pak Abo Program. 

"Through this PROPER assessment event, companies that obtain the Gold Proper predicate are considered to have carried out social and environmental responsibility activities above compliance. And we are very grateful to be able to run an environmentally sound operation," added Chalid. 

Furthermore, five Green PROPER predicates are to be received by the PHKT of the Northern Operating Area (DOBU), PEP Sangasanga, PEP Sangatta, PEP Sangatta Semberah, and PEP Tanjung. 

This achievement is a form of the company's commitment to applying ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) principles to every operating and business activity. As well as implementing various social and environmental innovations in the implementation of the Company's TJSL programs so that they can have a significant and sustainable impact.

"PROPER in 2022 provides an opportunity for the Company to continue to run Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs that support the achievement of sustainable development goals (SDGs), by carrying out synergy and collaboration with all stakeholders to be able to create benefits and values that are enjoyed together (creating shared value)," he said. 

PROPER is an assessment program from the government companies about the company's performance in environmental management which is regulated in the Regulation of the Minister of Environment Number 3 of 2014 concerning the Performance Rating Assessment Program in Environmental Management implemented by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry every year.

The PROPER program is one of the flagship programs of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, developed in 2002 to encourage the level of company compliance in environmental management and encourage innovation in natural resource management and community empowerment around the company's operating area.
