Bunyu – PT Pertamina EP (PEP) Bunyu Field held the closing ceremony of the series of Occupational Health and Safety (K3) month activities at Handasa Field, Bunyu Island, North Kalimantan, on February 24. On this occasion, they also signed commitments to Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) and AKHLAK -- the core values in the state-owned enterprise environment— to achieve Zero Medical Treatment Cases (MTC) and Zero Lost Time Injuries (LTI).

Moreover, PEP Bunyu Field also launched the campaign "Bunyu Field Free of Single-Use Plastic Bottles" by encouraging all workers to bring their drinking bottles to reduce plastic bottle waste.

Senior Manager of Bunyu Field, Andry Sehang, explained that the series of K3 month activities is part of an effort to instill a culture of K3 sustainably. The month-long activities became a positive experience for workers at the beginning of 2024.

Andry emphasized that worker safety and health are important aspects and the foundation of all company operational and business activities. "We implement best practices, innovations, and technologies that can improve safety by continuously providing various safety training and skill development for workers in the safety field to reduce the potential for human error," he said.

He hoped that the series of K3 month activities would benefit all workers, especially in experiencing and understanding the importance of K3 in work culture to achieve zero accidents. Quizzes, good housekeeping, safety campaigns, first aider training, firefighter combat, handcuff exercises, and baton exercises were among the activities conducted.
