Jakarta, 23 Maret 2021 - PT Pertamina Hulu Sanga-Sanga (PHSS) together with Teman Kita Foundation organized Youth Camp on 13-14 March 2021 at Coconut Beach, Samboja, Kutai Kartanegara as the peak event of Beringin Agung Village Creative Literacy Kampung Program series of activities in Samboja District, Kutai Kartanegara Regency.
The Creative Literacy Kampung Program series of activities included Elementary and Junior High School Teacher Literacy Training, MSME Business Development Training, and English Learning.
As much as 21 of Beringin Agung Village's youths participated in the Youth Camp, which aimed not only to coach the youth about organizational skills, but also encourage them to initiate projects, starting from planning to execution as a medium to promote the village.
Sources from various interesting professional background attended the event. One of the sources, Rio Dwi Setiawan, a clinical psychologist, teached the youth about ‘’Self Awareness’’, with the hopes that the youth in Beringin Agung Village could better understand themselves to develop and implemented their abilities better.
Andin Destian, an artist from Serumpun Lima Studio, was also present at the event, teaching them about ‘’What is Art and Local Wisdom’’to equip the Youth Camp participants to better understand and develop their village's culture and local wisdom.
Other sources include Dion Agustian, editorest.id Founder, who teached about ‘’Content Creator and Social Media’’. Dion also teached them about the technicalities in creating good videos and the use of social media to promote and introduce Beringin Agung Village's culture.
Lastly, Iswahyudi Rahman, an HBICS Research & Innovation Manager, teached about ‘’Success to be A Leader’’ on leadership for Beringin Agung Village's youths.
The Youth Camp participants were also given tasks related to the materials. They also participated in the inauguration night to showcase their talents and build team partnership and soildarity. The event was followed by a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on project management by Iswahyudi Rahman using Project Model Canvas to provide creative space and freedom for the participants to compile a project with clear and measurable achievement indicators involving stakeholders, users and even analyze obstacles and risks that was then presented in the Respondent-Moderator Focus Group.
PHSS Legal & Relations Manager Sugeng Wiharto believed that the youths of Beringin Agung village had many potentials and competence that could be developed through the Youth Camp. ”We want the youth to generate ideas and creativity that they have and implement it into actions to support the village's development, especially during the millenial era”, Sugeng said.
During the reflection session before the Youth Camp concluded on Sunday, 14 March, the participants expressed that they felt happy and motivated in participating in the event. The participants also hoped that the Beringin Agung Village Youth Camp could continue. Ade, one of the participants, conveyed his gratitude to PHSS for organizing the Beringin Agung Village Youth Camp, and he believed that PHSS and the Beringin Agung Village's youths could develop their and their village's potentials.
