PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia Launches SWA Card at the Peak of the 2026 National OHS Month Commemoration

Jakarta – PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI) officially launched the Stop Work Authority (SWA) Card, which grants every worker the authority to stop a job if unsafe behavior or conditions are identified, without fear of it affecting their individual performance appraisal. The launch of the SWA Card took place at the closing of the 2026 National Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Month/Bulan Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja (K3) Nasional 2026 commemoration held in Jakarta on 13 February.

PHI organized a series of OSH Month activities across all its operational areas in Kalimantan and at its head office in Jakarta from 15 January to 13 February 2026. This year's activities carried the national theme "Building a Professional, Reliable, and Collaborative National OSH Management Ecosystem," in line with the Ministry of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia's direction.

PHI President Director, Sunaryanto, stated that the launch of the SWA Card reaffirms the Company's commitment to prioritizing occupational safety and health. The SWA Card is a tangible intervention that embodies the values of care and professional responsibility of all Company personnel. He emphasized that the management fully guarantees the security of every individual's position in exercising this authority. "Nothing is more valuable than human life safety," he stressed.

Sunaryanto also encouraged all workers to implement the five practical SWA steps as stated on the card and to make the spirit of "Caring for Each Other, Courage to STOP for Safety" and the TEMAN KARIB culture (Speak Up if I Am Unsafe, Personal Risk Assessment/Tegur jika Saya tidak Aman, Kajian Risiko Pribadi) a shared working identity. "We must ensure that every worker leaves for work in a safe and healthy condition and returns home safely every day. Spread the safety message to colleagues, partners, and families at home. Stay alert, as hidden risks may exist around us," he concluded.

As the implementation of the three pillars of the National OSH Month, professional, reliable, and collaborative, PHI carried out various cross-functional collaborative actions within the Company and its subsidiaries. The activities included the HSSE Partner Forum; Webinar on Climate Risk: Hydrometeorological Disasters; Health Talk; blood donation drives; as well as various competitions such as HSSE Video, Basic Life Support, Hazard Hunt, Drill and Martial Arts, OSH Quiz, Office Waste Reduction and Segregation, APAR Challenge, and group sports. These activities aim to build and internalize an adaptive, resilient, and collaborative OSH ecosystem.

The Company also presented awards to workers who played an active role in realizing a professional, reliable, and collaborative national OSH management ecosystem. The Chairperson of the PHI 2026 National OSH Month Committee, Agam Munawar, symbolically handed over plaques of appreciation to representatives of the Task Force Supreme, the Incident Investigation Team, and the Emergency Response Team, as well as to workers who successfully fulfilled their commitment to quit smoking. The appreciation was given as recognition of their tangible contributions to strengthening the Company's occupational safety and health culture.

"We believe that the implementation of best safety practices in the national and global upstream oil and gas industry, including Pertamina Corporate Life Saving Rules (CLSR) and HSSE Golden Rules, plays a very important role in building a safety culture and excellent performance to support the sustainability of the Company's oil and gas production and national energy security," he concluded.
