Supporting National Energy Security, PT Pertamina EP Sangasanga Field Records Positive Performance at the Beginning of 2026

Sangasanga –  PT Pertamina EP (PEP) Sangasanga Field recorded a positive performance at the beginning of 2026, exceeding the Company’s target at 104.02 percent of the Corporate Work Plan and Budget (RKAP) target. With this achievement, PEP Sangasanga Field has maintained the positive production trend seen throughout 2025.

Senior Manager of PEP Sangasanga Field, Sigid Setiawan, stated that the Company operates brown fields that generally face the challenge of natural production decline. “The Company’s strategic measures through innovation and technology have successfully driven the month-to-date (MTD) production accumulation as of January 31, 2026, to reach 5,257 barrels per day (bpd),” said Sigid.

According to him, in 2025 production realization grew compared to the previous year, with a 10 percent increase in oil production and an 11.4 percent increase in natural gas. “Various challenges and complexities in managing brown fields have not diminished the workers’ spirit to achieve the set targets by implementing innovation and optimization,” he explained.

He added that the Company believes the implementation of innovation and technology plays an important role in maintaining oil and gas production levels, in line with the commitment of PHE and PT Pertamina (Persero) to provide sustainable energy for Indonesia’s development and future. “At the beginning of January, for example, we successfully drilled development well NKL-1183, which contributed an additional 420 bpd of oil production, enabling field production to reach 5,875 bpd,” said Sigid.

Not only in terms of production, but gas sales also showed encouraging performance with a realization of 5.44 mmscfd, or equivalent to 108.8 percent of the target under the Gas Sales Agreement (PJBG). “The Company successfully optimized the electricity system in the South Mahakam (SMHK) area through the use of Gas Engine Gensets (GEG), thereby reducing blackout incidents caused by electrical trips, or automatic power disconnections by the protection system during disturbances,” he added.

With these achievements and strategic measures, the Company is optimistic about maintaining sustainable oil and gas production while making a tangible contribution to meeting national energy needs and supporting the Government’s energy security agenda in line with the Asta Cita.
