Sangasanga, Kutai Kartanegara – The high intensity of rain since early Friday (9/3) has caused in several areas in Samboja Sub-disrict, Kutai Kartanegara Regency to be flooded. Sangasanga Field, Pertamina EP’s (PEP) upstream oil and gas field in Zone 9 of Pertamina Subholding Upstream Regional 3 Kalimantan, carried out a disaster emergency response by visiting the victims and delivering food aid.
Senior Manager of Sangasanga Field, Gondo Irawan, handed over 50 packages of food aid for Kamboja Sub-district, which was received by the Deputy Regent of Kutai Kartanegara, H Rendi Solihin, at the Samboja office for Indonesia Red Cross which also serves as central soup kitchen for Samboja Sub-district, on Saturday (09/04). Also present on that occasion were the Kutai Kartagengara Regency’s Head of BPNB (National Board for Disaster Management), Muspika (District Leadership Coordination) of Samboja Sub-district, and company personnel such as Prasetyo from Petroleum Engineering function, Adhitya Ryan Saputra from HSSE function, and Arif Atmoko from Security. After the food packages were handed over, they went to look at the condition of houses at the flooded area in Tanjung Harapan Village, Samboja Sub-district.
Akhmad Nurkhalis, Head of Samboja Sub-district expressed his appreciation for PEP Sangasanga and its quick response in delivering aid to flood victims. “The food that are delivered to us today will be processed in the Soup Kitchen, and then will be distributed to people affected by the flood,” he said.
In addition, PEP Sangasanga team also visited Kampung Lama Village, which is in the Ring 2 area of the company. The company has been implementing a Company CSR program in the village. The program is called Ekoriparian Sungai Hitam Lestari and focuses on environmental-education-based conservation of riverbank tourism areas. The program is organized by Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis) Sungai Hitam Lestari, a partner fostered by the company. In the disaster, 27 members of Pokdarwis Sungai Hitam Lestari were heavily affected by the flood and had difficulties in meeting their daily needs.
PEP Sangasanga Field delivered food aid which includes 20 boxes of instant noodles, 50 cans of sardines, and cutleries. The aid was received by Aidil, the Head of Pokdarwis, who represented the flood-affected people. Aidil appreciated PEP Sangasanga’s help.
On the same occasion, Gondo expressed his condolences and prayed that the flood would recede soon. ldquo;Let’s pray together that the flood in Samboja will recede quickly and that Samboja will be spared from future flood. All of us have to take care of our environment to avoid and prevent flood in the future. May Samboja residents be given strength and patience in facing this difficult time and may they always be healthy,” he said.
<a name=""_heading=h.gjdgxs""></a>According to SKK Migas Integrated Operation System (SOT) data dated 05 September year-to-date, PEP Sangasanga’s oil production reached 4,878 BOPD and gas production was around 3.4243 MMSCFD. Beside Sangasanga, other fields in Zone 9 Regional 3 Kalimantan are PEP Sangatta, PEP Tanjung, and Pertamina Hulu Sanga Sanga (PHSS).
