Malang– PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI) and its subsidiary, PT Pertamina Hulu Kalimantan Timur (PHKT) won two awards at the Indonesia Diversity, Equity, Inclusion (DEI) and Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) Awards, or IDEAS 2024.
PHI received a Silver award in the Gender Equality and Diversity Subcategory within the DEI Category for its "Promoting Respectful Workplace" campaign throughout 2023-2024. PHKT also won a Silver award in the Environmental—climate Change Subcategory within the ESG Category for its program titled "Peran Perusahaan Terhadap Pelaksanaan Program Kampung Iklim" in local villages around its operational areas.
The awards were received by PHI's Manager of Communication Relations & CID (CRC), Dony Indrawan, and Head of CRC Zona 10, Dharma Saputra, during the awards ceremony held in Malang, East Java, on July 26, 2024.
Dony mentioned that this achievement recognizes the company's success in its communication strategies and programs supporting DEI and ESG initiatives. "With the right strategy and communication, the company's DEI and ESG commitments and programs can be effectively received by internal and external stakeholders," he explained.
Dony Indrawan elaborated that the "Promoting Respectful Workplace" campaign aims to build awareness and understanding among PHI's employees, subsidiaries, and affiliates about the company's commitment, policies, and programs related to diversity, equality, and inclusion (DEI). "The company believes that employees are the most important asset in achieving its vision and mission. Therefore, the company implements policies that provide equal opportunity in developing employee competencies and careers," added Dony.
Regarding the "Peran Perusahaan Terhadap Pelaksanaan Program Kampung Iklim," Dharma Saputra stated that the company continually applies social and environmental innovations in its CSR programs to create significant and sustainable impacts on the community. "The company's environmental protection programs manifest our commitment to supporting the Net Zero Emission 2060 target by continuously promoting programs that directly impact the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)," Dharma explained.
From the organizers' side, the CEO of PR Indonesia Group, Asmono Wikan, mentioned that the committee received 118 entries this year. Of these, 68 entries from 47 institutions reached the final round. The judging process took place on June 20-21. "The high level of participation in this year's IDEAS event indicates that DEI and ESG practices are becoming increasingly vital for every organization," Asmono said.
The IDEAS evaluation focused on several aspects such as systematic, measurable, and sustainable communication strategies and programs, considering DEI and/or ESG policies/initiatives, clear objectives (SMART Objectives), targeted stakeholders, media strategy and communication tactics used, measurement and evaluation, and the impact of communication programs on stakeholders.
