Jakarta - PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI) organized an online upskilling activity to improve communication skills for the Relations Function Support Service Workforce (TKJP)/Community Development Officer (CDO) within the Kalimantan Region 3 (headquarter, Zones 8,9 and 10), on Tuesday and Thursday (25 and 27 May). The two-batch training was aimed to act as a refresher and give understandings on the development and changes in the company and how to communicate with stakeholders.
The trainings were facilitated by: PHI Relations Senior Manager Farah Dewi, PHI Relations & CID Communications Manager Dony Indrawan, and PHI Communications Relations Manager Kristanto Hartadi. The materials of the trainings include corporate knowledge, understanding the corporate relations function in the upstream oil and gas industry, key messaging creation principles, understanding crisis communications and journalism code of ethics.
Farah Dewi said that PHI's transition process impacted the company and its human resources considering the wider scope of work area would create more challenges, as well as opportunities.
Farah Dewi hoped that the training could provide field officers, who are the first line of defense to protect the company's reputation and operational continuity, would help strengthen their role and duties. “With better communication skills, I hope the stakeholders' and media's confidence to the company will increase and is shown in the form of support for the PHI Kalimantan Region 3 operations in producting oil and natural gas to support national energy security,” she said.
During the two-day training, more than 100 people participated and showed their enthusiasm in every Q&A sessions. In line with the company's procedure for meetings above two hours, the training was opened with safety procedure and Moral (Akhlak) moments.
