Jakarta – To reinforce its commitment to human safety and environmental protection, PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Yayasan Selaras Alam Khatulistiwa (SALAKHA Foundation) on cooperation to establish a Flood Emergency Response Team. The MoU was signed directly by the President Director of PHI and the Chairperson of the SALAKHA Foundation in late December 2025 at PHI's Head Office in Jakarta.

PHI President Director Sunaryanto stated that the MoU marks an initial step in building strategic collaboration between PHI and SALAKHA Foundation to enhance disaster emergency preparedness, particularly for floods, while reaffirming the Company's commitment to social and environmental aspects. "We believe that preparedness and a structured response to potential flood disasters by companies and other stakeholders are crucial elements of disaster risk management. Therefore, this initiative is expected to strengthen the Company's internal capacity in dealing with emergencies," he explained.

According to Sunaryanto, the Company will continue to encourage collaboration with all stakeholders in building disaster response capacity. "Through this collaboration, PHI and the SALAKHA Foundation will work together to develop a structured and sustainable disaster preparedness system based on capacity building," he added.

On the same occasion, SALAKHA Foundation Chairperson Baharudin Rahman conveyed his commitment to providing guidance, mentoring, and phased training programs, complete with certification, for PHI volunteers. "This MoU aims to enhance the capacity, competence, and readiness of teams in responding to flood emergencies. Therefore, this collaboration represents a strategic step in strengthening flood preparedness through preventive approaches and the enhancement of human resource capacity, both within the Company and the wider community," he said.

SALAKHA Foundation is an organization focused on environmental conservation through the development of various programs that promote environmentally friendly practices. SALAKHA places community engagement at the center of the implementation and management of sustainable natural resources.

The collaboration between PHI and the SALAKHA Foundation is expected not only to strengthen the Company's internal capacity in managing flood risks, but also to serve as a model of collaboration that delivers social added value, reinforces the role of communities, and makes a tangible contribution to environmental conservation efforts and the resilience of disaster-affected areas.
