Pertamina Hulu Energi Offshore Bunyu Becomes a Pioneer in 3D Marine Seismic Surveys on the Republic of Indonesia Malaysia Border.

Bunyu Island– PT Pertamina Hulu Energi Offshore Bunyu (PHELPB) completed a 3D marine seismic survey on the RI – Malaysia border on August 30, 2023. This success was achieved without any incidents (zero incidents) or Lost Time Incidents (LTI). The PHELPB 3D marine seismic survey was carried out to support the government's program to accelerate national oil and gas production and maintain the economy and productivity of oil and gas fields.

General Manager of Zona 10 Kalimantan Regional, Avep Disasmita, explained that this 3D marine seismic survey activity aims to increase the accuracy of understanding geological conditions below the earth's surface and obtain new seismic data. Later, this data can be used to plan and develop production in the Bunyu Offshore working area. "We hope that the completed survey can accelerate the implementation of exploration commitments in the 3rd year of PHELPB's existence in the northern Maratua Block," said Avep.

Avep added that this activity is a form of the Company's commitment to support the national oil and gas production targets set by the government through SKK Migas, namely 1 million barrels of oil per day and 12 billion standard cubic feet of gas per day by 2030.

Vice President Exploration PHI, Sri Hartanto, said that the PHELPB seismic survey in the Indonesia-Malaysia border area, in the future, could be used to support energy needs in North Kalimantan. Apart from that, it is hoped that the entire exploration of the production process will provide a multiplier effect for the surrounding community, such as increasing regional income and supporting energy sovereignty.

Secretary of North Kalimantan Province, Dr. H. Suriansyah, MAP and Head of the Problem Prevention and Handling Facilitation Team (TFPPM), appreciated all stakeholders who had supported and implemented this historic service a success, especially from the TNI-POLRI. "This seismic survey is a landmark moment in North Kalimantan.

"Hopefully, this activity will have a long-term impact on economic growth in North Kalimantan," he concluded.
