Continuing to Drive Digital Transformation, PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia Launches Planning Space Application

Jakarta – PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI) has once again introduced an innovation in information technology as part of its strategic digital transformation initiatives within the Company. The application, called Planning Space, is an enhancement of the previous DIGIPLAN application for the Long-Term Plan (LTP) business planning module. This application results from collaboration between PHI's Planning Strategy – Strategic Planning (SP) and Information Technology (IT) functions.

The launch of the Planning Space application took place on February 24, 2025, during a PHI Pop-Up Celebration at the PHI Headquarters, Graha Elnusa. The event was attended by the management of PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) as the Upstream Subholding (SHU), PHI management, and employees from relevant functions and teams.

Developing the Planning Space application aims to enhance the Company's competitive advantage and support business sustainability through technological advancement and digitalization. Yoga Wicaksono, manager of Planning and strategy at PHI, emphasized that digitalization is not just about technological transformation but also about creating a new and adaptive work culture and environment in response to industry changes.

"Planning Space significantly helps prevent data entry errors, improves analysis quality, integrates data from various sources, and offers a comprehensive software suite," explained Yoga. This application is designed to simplify the Strategic Planning process in the upstream oil and gas sector through features such as cloud-based economic evaluation and fiscal modeling, financial forecasting, central data management, portfolio optimization, and reserves management.

Moreover, Planning Space ensures that Strategic Planners have real-time and accurate insights to make informed business decisions and drive the Company's growth. This application is especially beneficial for strategic planners in managing repetitive and time-consuming data tasks, allowing them to focus on core priorities.

During the PHI Pop-Up Celebration, PHI's SP and IT functions presented the development of DIGIPLAN Phase 3.0 for preparing the Long-Term Planning (RJPP and Business Plan) and economic valuation. This development also aims to structure data within LTP analysis activities in Regional 3, laying the foundation for a data warehouse and Industry 4.0 readiness, particularly in Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Analyst of Data Modeling & Integration at PHI Galih Satriaji elaborated on DIGIPLAN Phase 3.0, which focuses on long-term planning and the application of artificial intelligence, including the implementation of Planning Space as an economic modeling engine. Collaboration between the SP and IT functions is crucial to supporting ongoing cultural change.

Senior Analyst of Business Planning at PHI Rithza Yuriartanto Sugondo expressed that DIGIPLAN Phase 3.0 through Planning Space is expected to meet three key objectives simultaneously: a single source database, avoiding redundancy with simultaneous and secure access and enabling automation and accelerated report generation. This integrated platform can also process LTP and economic modeling.

The Strategic Planning and IT functions of Regional 3 began developing DIGIPLAN Phase 1 in 2022. The development of DIGIPLAN is envisioned as an integrated platform to facilitate the RKAP planning process and comprehensive performance evaluation. Digitalizing the Company's Work Plan and Budget/Rencana Kerja dan Anggaran Perusahaan (RKAP) through DIGIPLAN is the first of its kind within SHU, including other regions. As the parent company of several major asset operators, PHI-Regional 3 Kalimantan requires digitalization to make the RKAP planning, heavy iteration processes, and management more effective and efficient.

PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI) is part of Pertamina's Upstream Subholding, managing upstream oil and gas operations in Regional 3 Kalimantan based on ESG principles to achieve its vision of becoming a world-class oil and gas company. Through its subsidiaries and affiliates in collaboration with SKK Migas, PHI carries out innovative Social and Environmental Responsibility programs in the fields of Economy, Education, Health, Environment, Infrastructure, and Disaster Response to support the achievement of SDGs and realize #EnergiKalimantanUntukIndonesia.
