Bunyu, North Kalimantan – PT Pertamina EP (PEP) Bunyu Field provided healthcare equipment to 18 Integrated Health Service Posts (Pos Pelayanan Terpadu or Posyandu) in Bunyu District, Bulungan Regency, North Kalimantan, on July 13–14, 2026. The assistance reflects the Company’s support for stunting prevention by strengthening maternal and child healthcare services. In implementing the initiative, PEP Bunyu Field collaborated with the Bunyu Community Health Center Technical Implementation Unit (UPTD Puskesmas Bunyu), the Bunyu District Government, and the village governments of Bunyu Barat, Bunyu Selatan, and Bunyu Timur. The program also involved the heads of 18 Posyandu as recipients of the assistance and partners in strengthening community healthcare services.
The assistance comprised 10 digital scales for mothers and children, six digital infant scales, four analog infant scales, and eight head-circumference measuring devices. The equipment is expected to support Posyandu cadres in monitoring the growth and development of infants and children under five more accurately. The assistance is estimated to benefit approximately 67 pregnant women and 568 infants and children under five served by the 18 Posyandu across three villages: seven in Bunyu Barat Village, six in Bunyu Selatan Village, and five in Bunyu Timur Village.
PEP Bunyu Field Senior Manager Ruri Heriandi reaffirmed the Company’s commitment to continuing to deliver tangible benefits to communities through its Community Involvement and Development (Pemberdayaan dan Pelibatan Masyarakat or PPM) Program. “This healthcare equipment assistance is part of our joint efforts to improve the quality of Posyandu services and support stunting prevention in Bunyu District. We hope the equipment will be properly utilized and maintained so that it can deliver sustainable benefits,” he said.
Ruri added that the Company believes improving the quality of maternal and child health is an important factor in building a healthy society and creating a better future for the nation. “Going forward, we hope the collaboration among the Company, Puskesmas Bunyu, the government, and the community will grow stronger in supporting improvements in the health of Bunyu residents,” he added.
The Bunyu District Government and village governments expressed their appreciation for PEP Bunyu Field’s support in strengthening basic healthcare services in the area. The healthcare equipment not only enhances Posyandu facilities but also supports efforts to accelerate stunting reduction by improving the quality of maternal and child growth monitoring.
Head of the Social and Economic Affairs Section of Bunyu District, Yuli Hayati, stated that the assistance reflects collaboration that delivers tangible benefits to the community. “We appreciate PT Pertamina EP Bunyu Field’s continued commitment to improving the quality of community healthcare services in Bunyu District. We hope all Posyandu cadres will properly utilize and maintain this equipment so that the community can continue benefiting from it,” she said.
Similarly, Head of Bunyu Barat Village, Suhadi, stated that the assistance addressed the needs of Posyandu in improving the quality of their services. “Limited facilities have previously affected the optimization of Posyandu services. With the assistance from PT Pertamina EP Bunyu Field, we are confident that services for pregnant women, infants, and children under five will improve while enabling Posyandu cadres to conduct community health monitoring more effectively,” he said. Suhadi expressed his hope that the existing collaboration would continue to grow through other community empowerment programs.
Meanwhile, Head of Bunyu Selatan Village, Alias Ranta, explained that adequate healthcare equipment would improve the quality of basic healthcare services at the village level. Posyandu serve as the frontline of community healthcare services. This assistance is particularly meaningful because it will support more effective monitoring of children’s growth and development while encouraging community members to use Posyandu services regularly. “We hope this initiative will become part of our collective efforts to create a healthier, stunting-free generation in Bunyu,” he said.
Head of Bunyu Timur Village, Lis Endang Otafia, stated that successful health development requires collaboration among all stakeholders. “We extend our gratitude for PT Pertamina EP Bunyu Field’s concern for the people of Bunyu. This assistance demonstrates the importance of collaboration among the government, the business sector, healthcare professionals, Posyandu cadres, and the community in improving health standards,” she said. Lis expressed her hope that the collaboration would continue through various mentoring and empowerment programs that deliver sustainable benefits to the community.
Head of Communication Relations & CID Zona 10, Elis Fauziyah, explained that the Company continues to invest in health-related CID programs that support the government in expanding access to healthcare services, raising awareness of healthy lifestyles, promoting the use of medicinal plants, providing care for pregnant women, and supplying nutritious food to help prevent childhood stunting.
According to Elis, Posyandu play a strategic role as community-based healthcare providers, particularly in monitoring nutritional status, maternal health, and child growth and development. “We believe that adequate healthcare equipment is essential for producing accurate anthropometric measurement data. This enables stunting risks to be identified earlier and addressed through appropriate interventions,” she concluded.
