Culture of Speech, Title of Workshop PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia Together with National Geographic Indonesia Support Worker Competency Improvement

Balikpapan– To increase human resource capacity and learn more about the media, PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI) held a Speech Culture Workshop fronted by National Geographic Indonesia (NGI) on Thursday, 20 July 2023. Located at the Rocket Mahakam Beach Club (RMBC) Balikpapan, this activity was attended by workers from Zone 8, Zone 9 and Zone 10.

This workshop activity is part of a series of National Geographic team coverage activities on Community Development Programs (PPM) that are favored by PHI from each zone, including the Mahakam Pesut Program in Pela Village (Zone 8), the Black River Ecoriparian Program (Zone 9), and the Kapak Prabu Program (Zone 10) which will take place on July 20-27 2023.

In his remarks representing PHI, Frans Alexander A. Hukom, Head of Communication Relations & CID Zone 8, it was said that this workshop was very useful for PHI Officers in conveying the uniqueness of each zone with a different perspective.

“PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia, which manages Pertamina’s upstream oil and gas business in the Kalimantan region, has a lot of innovations in operational activities and also the Community Empowerment Program (PPM) or CSR, which we feel needs to be published. Like the achievement in PROPER, last year we managed to get recognition from the government, namely the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, by giving the company a Gold PROPER rating of 4,” he said.

On this occasion, Didi Kaspi Kasim, NGI’s Chief Editor, gave a presentation entitled Storytelling Material Brings Impact. In this session, Didi explained how to cultivate attractiveness, involvement, readability, and relevance in writing quality content so that the content created can get the best ranking on search engines.

On this occasion, Didi explained how we could become content creators who can impact and benefit the company, others, and the wider community. Because according to Didi, writing must inspire a sense so that the content can have more impact.

“We have to be able to tell extraordinary facts; stories will be extraordinary when they are emotional, narrative. Facts may be basic, but emotion makes facts feel as compelling as fiction.” Didi added.

Apart from Didi Kaspi Kasim, the Culture and Culture workshop was also attended by another speaker who was no less exciting, namely Ricky Martin, the NGI videographer. On this occasion, Ricky presented material related to video content production management.

Ricky explained the flow of making videos, from pre-production to production and post-production. “Currently, there are many applications on mobile phones that can be used to make a video,” said Ricky. This, of course, makes it easier for everyone to make a video easily. Ricky also explained that a video made by a content creator must be able to tell a story to the audience and attract the audience’s interest.
