PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam Employees Share Inspiration and Awareness with the Community of Kutai Kartanegara through the PHM Mengajar Program

Kutai Kartanegara — PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam held another PHM Mengajar program with the theme of Basic Life Support Technique (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation/CPR, Casualty Handling & Injured Person Evacuation) and Introduction to the Oil and Gas Industry. The event was conducted on September 23, 2025, at one of PHM’s operational facilities, the South Processing Unit (SPU) Field, and was attended by participants from the Indonesian Red Cross Society (Palang Merah Indonesia) and the Youth Red Cross (Palang Merah Remaja) from all across Anggana District, Kutai Kartanegara.

PHM Mengajar Program is one of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs aimed at supporting the development of societal capacity and independence. The program involved speakers from PHM’s cross-functional employees, including Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE), Project (PRJ), and Maintenance (MNT). These PHM employees provided technical guidance and hands-on practice on handling emergency casualties and safe evacuation, including CPR simulation, which is vital for society’s preparedness in managing emergencies.

Head of Communication Relations & CID Zona 8, Achmad Krisna Hadiyanto, said that PHM Mengajar is a social education program designed to share knowledge and competency with the society, students, and the community surrounding the Company’s operation fields. “This CSR program is set to serve as a medium for the employees of PHM to directly contribute through interactive learning in safety, in the field of environment, and the oil and gas industry,” he said.

He explained that the PHM Mengajar Program is also part of PHM’s sustainable initiative in the society and education sector. Through this program, PHM not only transfers technical knowledge in the fields of oil and gas and safety but also raises awareness of the importance of emergency response skills and concern for self-safety and the surrounding environment.

The session was interactive and filled with enthusiasm, as evidenced by the liveliness of participants in asking questions, participating in field simulations, discussing work in the oil and gas industry, and implementing work safety.

Representatives of Anggana District and the Indonesian Red Cross Society expressed their appreciation for the educational initiative brought by PHM through the PHM Mengajar Program. They assessed the event as not only relevant to the needs of the people but also as a factor that strengthened collaboration between the industry and local community in building a safety culture from an early stage.

Representing Anggana District Government, Titin, went along on how the training was invaluable for the society. “The sessions provided valuable insights for the Red Cross volunteers and the younger generation in Anggana. It is hoped that similar activities will continue to be held regularly,” she added.

Manager Communication Relations & CID PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI) Dony Indrawan emphasizes the Company’s commitment to ensuring that its upstream oil and gas operations and business activities promote economic development, societal independence, and environmental sustainability, in line with efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). “Execution of PHM Mengajar is parallel with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially the 4th goal, to Ensure Inclusive and Equitable Quality Education and Promote Lifelong Learning Opportunities for All,” he explained.
